Aussie TV is seriously underrated, especially in Oz. Shame really, there's some great stuff. I don't think it's been mentioned already; Deadloch is a brilliant recent one.

New Zealand, also. "The Almighty Johnsons" is a great show. When I was growing up the only Aussie TV we got was Australian Lassie.

Also, can't remember if I've previously mentioned another Australian series, "Glitch." It's quite good and in the vein of something like "Manifest."

Oh man I hated Glitch, which is a shame because I liked the premise and the lead guy (Patrick Brammall) has done some great stuff. Probably my favourites of his are Upper Middle Bogan and No Activity.

I may be somewhat biased, because I quite enjoyed Wish Version Anna Torv (Emma Booth).

How about a list - I've got lots of time ...... 🤪
Here's a list I made for a friend a few years ago that should keep you occupied for a while (the notes are to her but they're still mostly relevant) 😆 I've added a few at the end that have come out since I made this too. As a general rule, if it involves Claudia Karvan, Wayne Blair, Asher Keddie, Deborah Mailman, Guy Pearce, Kate Box, Celia Pacquola, or Rob Sitch, you’re probably in for a good time.

Quirky

Rosehaven (has to be downloaded but Celia Pacquola is a queen!)
Offspring
Get Krack!n (another one that has to be downloaded, but it’s one of those rare shows that gets better with every episode. Only 2 seasons, and the last episode of season 2 is brilliant)
Utopia (download only; as a government worker, you’ll love this 😉) <-- I can't recommend this one to anyone enough)
Rake (goes off the rails in later seasons but earlier seasons are some of my favourite comedy TV)
Sisters
The Letdown
Wanted (could put this under either category, it’s a fun drama)

Drama

Redfern Now (download only; quite possibly the best TV Australia has ever produced. There’s a follow-up movie that’s also fabulous, but TW, it’s about rape)
Stateless
The Hunting (download only, but if you see Rake and Offspring first, it’s fabulous to see those two leads play serious roles really bloody well!)
Total Control (download only)
The Principal
Secret City
Pine Gap
The Code
Wentworth (probably best to tap out at the end of season 6 at the latest, possibly even 5)

Cleverman I’m putting this one in a class of its own because it’s absolutely not everyone’s cup of tea but you might enjoy it – it’s kind of dystopian future mixed with Aboriginal Dreamtime storytelling – give it one episode and you’ll know if you like it or not

Total Control
Mystery Road
The Newsreader @Rob MacLennan you'll probably wanna check this out given the lead ;)

Yeah I tried to watch it, as it was recommended around here, couldn't get into it.

Will check out the other show you mentioned.

I'm growing to like Auz and Brit TV shows, they are well written and not to flashy or dumb, which is quite refreshing.
Though Brits seem to like Cop Drama shows, there's lots to chose from. Currenlty watching Ripley.

The Brits like them, so they do them well. MI-5(Spooks here) is one of my all time favourite shows. Broadchurch, Happy Valley, Line of Duty, Shetland, Scott & Bailey; all great. The Fall ..... great except the ending SUCKED DONKEY'S ⚽⚽ and that ruined the whole series for me.

I'll have to give Ripley a look. How are you liking it?

anterabae Thanks (y)

All brilliant, I'll add Luther and Prime Suspect .....The orginal was superb and I was heartbroken when the cancelled this due to a writers conflict. Prime Suspect 1973 It was superbly cast.
Stefanie Martini eyes are mesmerizing.

Adored MI5.

It's good, the same actor who plays the captain/chief in Line of Duty. Kinda feels like a mini extension of that show.

For the Anna fans you could also add "Secret City" ;)

Wish that it had gotten a third season.

Doing a 4th (5th?) rewatch of "The Orville" and somehow, through all of the times I've seen all of the episodes, I missed that in season 1 MacFarlane erroneously refers to the ship as the USS Orville.
