Triumph owners unite!

we should all for sure plan a ride sometime this summer. Triumphs here in the GTA are so few compared to other brands and it would be really neat to get a group together. I'll look into figuring something out. Im guessing a sunday sometime in a month or maybe earlier.

Any Triumph riders headed up to Parry Sound SBR??

Mine is a 2004 Daytona 955i, in tornado red, with a Hindle slip-on and the sound is absolutely amazing. I read one article on the 955i, when they compared it to all the other liter bikes in '04, and it hit the nail right on the head. They had called it: "The gentleman's sport bike".

I got a TT600 [painted up like the General Lee. I was thinking of trading it in but decided I loved the bike to much.

Can anyone share what kind of Fuel Range people are getting on any of the Street Triple (08, or 09)? For Some reason I average 8.3 L/100km or 33 MPG, This is far below Magazine reviews and other websites

for instance
http://hubpages.com/hub/Motorcycle-MPG-Guide-Triumph
reports

<LI _nwii="0" XhgXW="0">Street Triple 675 (2008) - Fuel Economy Range: 45 to 54 mpg - 19 to 23 km per litre - 5.2 to 4.4 litres per 100 km
Am I crazy, becasue Both My Dealer (Rev Cycles) and Triumph (Customer Service: (678) 854-2010, extension 2064) Told me that 8.3 L/100 km is normal?? I Hate that I am reving usually below 6 Grand and gettin 160 km per tank!!!.... is this normal for anyone else????

Heh, didn't see this before. I'm a Triumph survivor, used to have a '97 T595. I would love to have one again someday, once I finally reach the day I can't fit any more money in the fireplace.

Hmmmm... actually, there's a rather large collective of Ton Up riders on vintage Trumpets, Beezers and Norton's in the area. I did a 3 month, route 66 road trip on black beauty here... Hitting the East Coast in 3 weeks on the Norton...

I don't have either (triumph of Norton) but I don't think anyone can deny those two bikes a beautiful!

Hey Triumph owners, I have some questions for you!

What's insurance like on the 675 Daytona or Street Triples compared to a similar Japanese sport bike.

And what are the maintenance costs like?

I'm seriously considering one or the other for next year.

too many variables regarding insurance but based on classification, the naked would be cheaper obviously. if your with state farm or similar that bases rates on engine size, then they should be the same. only way is call around and find out.

maintenance has been reasonable for my 08. service intervals are every 10000 km but for oil changes etc., i bring it in every 5000 km. only issue is parts. there is a warehouse in the states, but canada gets their parts from the uk instead... stupid, but expect at least a week or two if you need anything.

Im paying about 1G for my 09 675..that's through SF, with my truck with them as well. Im over 25. I called damn near everywhere and they were the cheapest for me by far. Other quotes ranged from $1800 to $2900 for me.
I really think you need to call around to get a bunch of different quotes considering all the variables.

Oh and get a triumph...there frikin sweet.

Thanks for the response. I'm getting a pretty dirt cheap rate for my car and bike with statefarm right now, although I'm a lot younger than you:confused1:

Another question:)
I read somewhere that the Daytona's and Triples have a small battery, and a lot of people have problems with batteries dying if they don't keep it on a tender when not being used. Any truth to that?
