sounds like you work in the industry?

definitely didnt steal it for the cargo? that flat bed was empty. unless the dope was hiddin in the truck or underneath trailer!

so you just keep letting him drive until he kills someone?
he hadn't attempted to kill anymore yet, so there is no reason for them to think he would. A truck that big out of control in the other hand it will be luck if someone doesn't get hurt

its a good thing that he didnt kill anyone, but im disappointed in our police force. to let something like this go on for hours on end was reckless on their part in my opinion. Their job is to SERVE AND PROTECT the public, in this instance the only people they were protecting were themselves.

man i wonder what they will do in the usa. swat team will blow **** up 20 mins into the pursuit probably. a few years late there will be a movie adaptation lol

Should they use force and endanger others when all he is doing is refusing to stop? He is not driving like a madman. They are doing the right thing.

They already offloaded the cargo, he was probably on his way to dump the truck when the cops spotted it.

He was on the highway for over 5 hours with other traffic coming on and off the highway like nothing was going on. At one point the OPP actually said that its not a chase lol

This was somebody that stole a truck, then refused to stop for police. He could have killed many people at those speeds and he demonstrated that he had no regard for the law. That truck should have been stopped withing the first 10 minutes of that pursuit going on by force.
Thankfully it ended the way it did, but what if he ran down a family in a minivan? Would your opinion change then?

We pay these guys 100,000+$ a year to protect us from these sorts of people, not to stand behind a radar gun.
Seems like it was handled very poorly in my opinion.

I agree with the OPP not stopping him and waiting him out. He couldn't go anywhere and didn't seem like he would try to do something to endanger someone, but forcing him or provoking him might have changed that.

This isn't a hollywood flick and won't give you the jollies you want. Get over it. They did a good job keeping the public safe.

Don't know why they didn't attempt to box him in and force the driver to stop. Oh wait, that would be endangering their own safety, how thoughtless of me. And I thought cops were expected to work in dangerous situations. What's troublesome is that the OPP did virtually nothing except follow the truck until it ran out of gas.

I dont agree. This guy made it clear that he does not give a **** about the law or anyones safety. The highway should have been shut down for a couple kms, one of those beautiful 60,000 dollar suvs we as taxpayers pay for should have gotten in front of the truck and unloaded a magazine into the front end of the truck. Chase would have ended pretty quickly after that...

Funny how police can shoot a cow in an empty field, or taze a 15 year old kid, yet will do nothing to stop a 50,000 lbs truck from potentially killing a good number of people...

But i agree with retrogrouch here, that would put themselves at risk. Funny how they also cut the feed the minute the guy pulled over, but that was about their safety so it mattered...

Oh but then we would have to complain that $60 000 of our tax dollars went down the drain as it got pushed off the road. They really shouldnt have waited it out, would have made the news more interesting.

The truck was limited to 105km/h. All the OPP had to do was go 110 in front of him. 1 guy drives, the other one opens the rear up and takes a few shots. Total cost about 10-30 dollars worth of .223 ammo, instead they drive all around the gta, to niagra and half way back with their **** tucked in their *** like a bunch of security guards.

hey, Dohhh

you watch way too much TV/movies. That's not how real life works.

The OPP did exactly what they were supposed to do.
