Track Day TMP 1-9 pm or 5-9 pm -- Thursday May 23rd

YellowDuck, which one were you?

Well, I was on the Yellow. Duc. (Get it?) Ducati Sport Classic, school bus yellow. We didn't seem to be out on the track much at the same time - I have no footage of you at all as far as I can see.

How did you end up liking the Q2s?

I didn't install the Q2, ran the Bridgestone slicks the whole day. At my pace, they were good for 4-5 laps in, after which there wasn't enough heat in them and was sliding at almost every corner. At first I felt it's sliding unpredictably, but after this happening 5 laps in on each session, I got used and it was quite predictable, haha---the unpredictable would be if they didn't slide :) I'm glad I didn't end up on my *** though. I had some really bad chatter when braking for turn 2, but I'll start a different thread later with a video to ask people diagnose that. Made me run off two times.

EDIT: Here is the thread with the mentioned chatter: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforu...-me-diagnose-this-scary-chatter-at-TMP-Turn-2

Here's a video that sums up all the rain we got during the day, you can see it on the windshield.

Also at 2:22 the rear slipping a foot or so.

In retrospect, it was a wasted trackday for me because I was thinking the slipper clutch I installed is going to do the job for me. I didn't rev-match the downshifts and did many things wrong. I didn't improve my skills with this trackday, I only worsened them :(

A bit off-topic: why is the TMP road course always advertised everywhere to be 3km long, when it's only 2.33 - 2.34 km?

jesus, who cares, just ride the damn thing and go around in circles as fast as you possibly can without killing yourself!

If everybody does exactly that, then we won't need GTAM anymore, yeii

It was a good day for me. No heroics, just an opportunity to get to know my ghetto sv1000 track ride.

It was, however, epicly difficult to wedge my size 13's onto the bike. I guess there's no getting around it, there aren't a lot of 6'4" track riders for a reason. I ended up dragging the sole of my boot - seriously, not a peg, definitely not a knee, but the sole of my boot.

Here is my first attempt at GoPro footage - I knit it together with Windows Live Movie Maker. There is a lap with just me (rear mount), then some front mount footage of the fellow on the 250, Darren, Steve, and Kozy. Sorry Oomis and Corsara, I never got you guys when I had the front mount set up.

If anyone would like to explain to me how to upload a 7-min video to youtube without having it take 3 h I would appreciate it. I assume I need to save it with reduced resolution or frame rate but I am not sure what settings to use.

Also, how do I embed it so you don't see just the link?

Nice video, thanks for sharing! Also great lines and riding from what I can tell, I've got a lot to learn!

To make the video show in here, just put it in "VIDEO" tags. Same as when you quote somebody, but with VIDEO instead of QUOTE (sorry, can't write it here, don't know how to escape the characters and make it not think i'm posting a video.

That wasn't me or my 1098

Sounds like you need to move your feet back on the pegs more. Do you have the middle of your feet on the pegs and toes out, heels in? That would do it too... Otherwise I've got no idea how you managed to drag the sole...

Without the spaces between the letters - format it like the below

Oh blast, sorry. I guess I got confused about who was who. If you want me to change it I will (but it's a lot of work with 3 h upload time!).

Nice video Duc, good editing, it liked it. That was me waving you guys past. Caludio was on the 748 ducati, it was his first track day ever. I was showing him the lines, he did quite well for his first time out. I actually didn't know you were behind us. lol. I followed you for a couple of laps, your bike has some good low end grunt, you pulled hard out of the corners, it sounds real good too.

Thanks for the kind words. I can't believe I misidentified Darren and you both. I think I will go ahead and fix it and re-upload.

No need to change it on my account, great job bye the way.....
