Toronto bans electric scooters

So....if you have one and are seen by police will they enforce it?
I see a few of them in our area and they look fun. I did tell one guy to tell his 16 year old son to watch out as he’s blowing stop signs and pulling u turns without even looking. Easy to get killed like that, and I don’t want that in front of my house as were at the stop sign he blows through.

Are they referring to the stand up jobs that are kind of like a push scooter? What about the classic DUI bike?
Everyone loves to hate the ebikes, but I kind of like that they're bypassing the ripoff we call the insurance industry.

Ah I was wondering if this would have any impact on e-Bikes. Too many of them look like motorbikes.
Talking about these.
They were a pia all over Waterloo. People leave them anywhere and everywhere.

Back in the heyday of online flash games, score points by hitting scooter riders with bricks.

"City staff also found that e-scooters provide inadequate consumer safety standards"

Apparently unlike the uber safety ebike? The blind drunk leading the blind high on ecstasy?

City of Mississauga set rules for operating a scooter.

Wont matter in another 24 months, legislation can't keep up with tech.

Electric unicycles are on the brink of becoming the new scourge, some can push past 70 kph

I just ordered a e-mountain bike. Peddle assist, no throttle. I'll bet that is a loop hole. Anyway I'm using mine off road. Yall with dirt bikes don't run me over ok.
It's not a loophole. Electric motor with more than 500W and it's an unlicensed uninsured motorbike (also likely a helmet ticket). Don't ride like an ass and you probably never have the chat that gets you tickets.

or make a convincing sticker with a dymo labeler that says 375W , not like the average constable is an electrical engineer .

I don't have mine yet but it's a 500w motor and comes with a DOT helmet. I won't be on busy streets, mostly in the ganny forest.

I didn't say there weren't 100 ways to beat the stupid laws. Just that motor vehicles that don't meet definition of ebikes are not a grey area.

It's my spring and fall ride. The off motorcycle/snowmobile season. I also hope it helps with cardio.

The controllers limit the speed and watts to whatever is the legal requirement is. I talked to a guy with the pretend sport bike style. Apparently it's pretty easy to bypass the limiter. I saw one of them doing about 70km last week in Newmarket
