Or neither? If you're too fast its super easy to get a good enough drive out of 1 to safely pass by getting late on the brakes for two, or passing on the outside of 3 before 4, and then disappearing. You dont need lap times to be in intermediate, just a comfort level on the bike and around other bikes. Hell when there's 3 groups im always on the slow end of hot shoe, be predictable and everyone else can go about their business.
Actually, I passed people on mostly on the 1st straight, sometimes the 2nd, but contrary to what you suggest, I never drop to 1st gear. I got into the routine of winding up 2nd, 3rd and a bit of 4th on the first straight, drop down to 3rd for turn 1, then down to 2nd for turn 2 until 13. I just think I could pass people many times on the other straighter sections, especially between turn 6 and 7. Being a beginner, the straight between turn 5 and 6 kinda scares me with that lefty turn 6... however, the left turn 9 is my favorite for some reason, just like turn 1 and 3 I like turn 13 coming to the straight too, and totally hate turn 10---I have no idea what's the best way to take that one. If you've got tips, please, share! ...i got carried away, I can't wait for my track day!
How could I forget the torrential downpour as we were about to leave.
Blue tape eh? I looked at it, it did feel lighter and more aerodynamic even on the roll but It was twice the price at Canadian Tire.
We'll have to put green vs blue to the test.
I'll keep an eye out for you and a grey escape.
If you're nice, I'll give your some blue for the headlight---instant 13 hp! See ya there mike
