TMP Aug 11 and 12th

If it was cancelled due to weather, then they should postpone it to a better day and that will be that end of that.
Why would you want your money back?
You still have a trackday to look forward to.
Because I can't do sept 1st and would rather have my money back.

I was really looking forward to this, had the bike loaded on the uHaul, ready to go. Then I got the call :(

I was rescheduled for Sept 1st, but I don't know what my options are, forgot to ask. I was planning to do a few track days before the end of August, now what---do track days and then do Intro to Track?! Can somebody from the organizers pitch in, I'd like to get credit for the money paid for Intro to Track and use them up for track time before that. Will get somebody to show me around the track..

I thought the course was supposed to run rain or shine http://www.torontomotorsportspark.com/raceway/

They defaulted by canceling, I'd be asking for my refund pronto.

Well, called and the lady on the phone was really nice. Signed up for Aug 23rd track day Intermediate group, and now I have left over credit to use later. Was really looking forward to today's Intro, but can't wait until Sept 1. That's too far at the end of summer besides don't know if I can go being a long weekend and all..

I think the organizers for today's Intro made the right choice though... what fun would it have been to be soaking wet on the track in the first place, and if you push going fast in corners take bigger risk dumping the bike...and what fun is it to go street corner speed anyway.. Also the guys can't control the weather, can they.. Despite my earlier disappointment, I think it would work out good for me after all. Now looking forward to the 23rd, and hope work doesn't get in the way..or rain..

A couple of times earlier this summer I've been on rides (on the street) with people who've been to the track, and I can see bad habits (the ones I'm confident that are bad) and they just can't ride well...nor fast..especially in corners. That's why I thought maybe "Green" has people like that, in which case I don't really want to ride with them..

Can somebody tell me what exactly is the difference between Green and Intermediate? If I'm in Green, can I still ride fast but just not pass in corners? Because if it is so, maybe I should call and change to Green..

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I'm calling to change to Green, sorry for the disturbance I caused. Just tell me---if I find out I can do better, is it a common practice to get "upgraded" to the next level during the track day? Or once in Green, you're stuck in Green for the whole day...what is the difference anyway?!

Start off in green then progress to int during the day. Don't bother looking at anyone else's form, take the time to learn the track. Typically the first session comes as a huge shock to the avg street rider who thinks they are fast.
Usually disappears right after being past by a female or 12 yr old kid ;).

Most track day organizers will let someone switch to a more appropriate group, if it becomes apparent during the track day that they're not where they should be.

Green group for 1st track day is a good move, at least to start out. The track is a WHOLE different ball game from road riding. And just because someone has done a track day or two, doesn't mean they are any good at it. The last few years have brought SO many new people into track days that you don't really start seeing consistently "good" riding until people have progressed beyond track days and have gotten some actual roadrace experience. Red group in a track day is generally better than green group but there are still people who sign up for that group who shouldn't be there (mixed up with a few who ought to take the next step and start racing). But I digress ...

Start out in green, see how it goes.

... or when their sorry butt on a late model sport bike gets passed by a ratty 20 year old EX500 ...

Thanks guys, I appreciate the advice. I'm trying to call and change to Green, but they're not answering, maybe they're done for the day. Will try tomorrow, but I'm glad I posted here. Last thing I want is to be ruining the session of other people in Intermediate. And it's comforting to know I can move up if I'm ready.

hey Orlin must suck I know how much you have been looking forward to this but hey I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason.Wet track and wanting to go fast and wanting to get your bang for your buck.Ya know where I'm headed anywho you still in for the penn run in two weeks for the sat 25th less than two hours from the border and the twistys begin let me know

What kind of nonsense is this?
He's on a 1000 bro...

hahahaha....a 1000 means nothing. it's the rider not the bike. If anyone goes in the red group on there first track day, they will be putting them and others in danger. I have no idea how much experience you have mina but I would guess very little at a track.

Hey Manny, yea, haven't forgotten about the 25th, I'll let you know probably by next weekend. You know me, I'm all in unless there are time restrictions imposed from the wife (Do you hear the whip cracking? ;)

She was being sarcastic---it's the standard joke everybody throws at people on a 1000, whom they've never met :)

It's also not only about how fast one can go.

It's also a matter of correct behaviour on the track so that one is not a danger to themselves and others. That comes first with training and then with experience. This has little to do with how fast a given rider is.

Corsara, just a word of advice - forget how fast you are on the street, forget about any assumptions you may have for how well you will do on your first track day, forget about moving into yellow from green and forget about going fast.

Just work on learning the track, the proper lines, proper body positioning, everything else will come with time

The more you expect of yourself the more disappointed you will be to know how much you really suck and you didn't even know.... Saying this with all the respect

Have fun

Thanks, appreciated, very good suggestions that I'll remember! Now I'm in Green, just successfully changed it.
