Tire warmer recommendations?

10%/$40 more for the item in Canada from a great shop that supports racing and ships for FREE in a matter of days and you are going to get it form a mail order place in the states? That's balls.
Ok Ok... I get it, I'm a jackass. lol...
I'll give BSR a shot. Thanks!

If you're putting together a larger order there is a very good chance that Tony @ BSR would give you a bit of a discount. Call him and tell him what you're after, he has often got me stuff that isn't listed on his website. I got my Attack triple clamps through BSR and his price was really good! Link to his website is in my sig, call him up and give him your list.. see what he can do.
Good to know...
I'll give him a call some time in the afternoon today, thanks!

I actually just hung up the phone with Tony, sounds like a decent guy.
His prices are very close to the US prices so I will be buying from him.
Too bad he can't get his hands on a set of ASV's, that's about the only thing he couldn't get.
Thanks for the wake up call guys, I appreciate it.

Just ordered the Woodcraft's from Tony and a bunch of other stuff...
GOOD TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Red Bull gives you wings.

Tony also carries pirelli superbike pro track day slicks (hard), not listed, and reasonable price (few bucks more than Orion's)

I got a set of Chicken Hawk and they are much cheaper thn the Bickle and the work excellent. Havent had a chance to compare them but I see the Chicken Hawks used by others a lot.

Upside to having the Bickles is that if something happens hes local and can fix them quick. If you have a good set of warmers this shouldnt be a problem you should be having though unless they are very old and worn which im not sure if Bickle would fix.

I guess overall its a preference thing and cost of them

+10000 for Bickle anythings. I had purchased a second hand set of bickle's and unfortunately had some trouble with my front warmer after using it for only a few days. I went over to see Bickle and he took it and repaired it(at the low cost of $20), he did mention they were pretty old models that I had, still had some issues with it and he once again took it back and repaired it free of charge. Thie first time he repaired the thermostat connection and once that was working at full strength he suspected that it burned one of the heating elements out. Awesome support, he also gave me a loaner both times to get me by. Also had him do some leather work on my suit this year, once again great work at reasonable costs. Purchased some knee pucks too last time out.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but anyone tried Tyrsox? They can be had for mere 200 for those of us that are budget deprived...

Wow, this is an old thread. I ended up with a set of Chicken Hawks, I believe. My b/f got them for me. They're great on the Q2's, which is what I'm still using, but I understand they don't get hot enough for slicks?

Been around longer then anybody in North America. Work well in the southern states but under 20 C you will have trouble building heat as they have no insulation other then the cozies. Most guys never use the cozies as they are a pain to put on and then blame the warmers for not heating. If you buy them use the cozies or you wasted your money. If it's below 20 C and any breeze you will have trouble heat soaking the tire. Above 25 C and no wind they work great as any warmer with no insulation.

You need a solid high 80 C for slicks all the way through the tire. CH's should get there if it"s over 20 C and no wind. If they are not getting there you may need to have them looked at.

Thanks a lot for the reply. From everything I've read around, Bickle warmers are possibly the best bang for the buck, added bonus you're local, you service them when/if needed, etc.

That said, I've got a low powered genny outputting only about 1kw of continuous power, and right now the bike hobby gets the smallest budget of all hobbies in the family as it's only my hobby and nobody else's.. I'll do about 10 track days or so, most in mids of summer, so I guess the tyrsox could be an acceptable choice given my circumstances and fact that maximum reliable performance is not critical (no racing, etc..). I'll be running slicks next summer though.. Putting the cozies on top of the warmers every time between sessions, yeah, that could be a pretty big inconvenience I guess :(

^ What are your thoughts on the Woodcraft Dual Temp warmers?

Uhmmmm,,,,,,well,,,, uhmmm,,,, Never used them! I have data about Woodcrafts I can"t share on a forum. But the dual temp is becoming redundant with us.
We hold enough heat that the second lower temp is never used. So depending on your plans would determine if you even needed a dual temp. As far as warmers on rains,,, if you have to ask then you should not use warmers on rains. If Woodcrafts are any good,,,,would not be right for me to answer that. For obvious reasons! At least I think it's obvious!;)

Bickle, I haven't purchased the tyrsox yet, but if I manage to secure some more funds for warmers for the spring, I'd readily get one of yours. However, need to ask this as it might turn to be a deal breaker for me---I have one of those clunker gennys Champion 1500, which is rated at 1080 W continuous power. Do you think that's going to be enough to power your warmers properly with it (assuming the genny actually works, haha)?
