Tire warmer recommendations?

Mods: Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Wasn't sure if I should put this here or General Motorcycle Discussion.

I have zero knowledge and experience about tire warmers. What do you TD enthusiasts and racers recommend for price, value, and reliability?

Awesome! I've actually chatted with him at the track. Super nice guy. Next time I'm at 'Bogie I'll pick up a set from him.

Thanks folks! :)

I have to jump in and say that I own woodcraft (dual temp) and bickle (dual temp). I personally like the woodcrafts more and have become my #1 recommend. The bickles work very well dont get me wrong but for less money you can get what I consider a better warmer for less money. I also have a set of T2s that are good but not up with either the other 2

I have two sets of Woodcraft dual-temp warmers and I would recommend them to anyone.

I can get a brand new set of Woodcraft's Dual Temp for $340... Is that a good price?

John Bickle. Hands down.

Local guy, and if you have issues you can normally find him at one of the local tracks.

That's not exactly true. You will find him at RACE, Nationals and some (or most) Calabogie or Mosport events. He doesn't come to SOAR or any trackdays at TMP or GB. You may or may not be able to get them fixed right away, it depends on how swamped he is with other business.

When I got my new Woodcraft warmers this year I thought there was something wrong with them. It turns out that I'm just an idiot and they don't work exactly the same as the previous dual temps. My older ones have an orange power LED that's always on but the new ones have a two colour orange/green LED that changes with power cycling. The green is hard to see in sunlight so I thought the warmer was off. I sent them back to Woodcraft (and they promptly told me that the warmers are fine.. oops!) but I had a loaner set from them within a few days that I used for a SOAR weekend in June.

Want to part with a set? :D

Sorry, I often use both rears and like having two sets.

Local? That's a decent price.

I bought a set of used bickles.... I think they were 3-4 years old. This past June the front warmer was intermittently crapping out. So gave John Bickle a call, had a friend deliver it to him. He was so busy (mid-season) he couldn't have it repaired for the second SOAR race weekend, but he sent a loaner warmer to me.

2 weeks later I got my warmer fixed for about $50. With the on-and-off use, these things are never going to last forever without repair or maintenance, but it's good to know that someone KNOWS their own product and can fix it for a fraction rather than having me buy a new set.

The cheapest I found local was $380 from BSR.
$40 is not a big difference but when I'm buying a bunch of other stuff, the savings add up.
I would be getting them from south of the border.

Dave (Competition Cycle) quoted me $425 for a set of Bickles + hst, I looked on BickleRacing.com and they were going for the same price.
It's just a matter of convenience if I end up getting a set of Bickels.

Not sure if I will pull the trigger on a fresh set of Woodcrafts or hang in there for some end of the season savings, since I have until next season.

10%/$40 more for the item in Canada from a great shop that supports racing and ships for FREE in a matter of days and you are going to get it form a mail order place in the states? That's balls.

Agree with you on this one - I have stopped buying from Pete and get my tires from Dave (competition Cycle), got to help out the locals that support the sport

If you're putting together a larger order there is a very good chance that Tony @ BSR would give you a bit of a discount. Call him and tell him what you're after, he has often got me stuff that isn't listed on his website. I got my Attack triple clamps through BSR and his price was really good! Link to his website is in my sig, call him up and give him your list.. see what he can do.
