Tim Hortons in Oshawa on Simcoe St. S - drive thru only

Has anyone been in the new stripey mcdonalds? I don't like them but service is faster. They increased kitchen size and decreased seating. Some have a separate entrance for delivery drivers to keep them away from seated customers.
Haven’t been inside a McDonald’s since 2012.

There's actually quite a few Timmies like this. When you are on the road all the time and sometimes it's the only option for a warm "coffee" (in quotes for a reason) and a bite to eat, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Ol 'Douggie promised to introduce a law that required shippers and receivers to provide bathrooms to commercial drivers. As someone in the industry, I can confirm that this never happened, and to this day a lot of places still won't let drivers use the bathroom. At least fast food places are an option again in most circumstances now, although I'm still surprised at how many places have basically permanently closed their bathrooms with "sorry, out of order" signs that have clearly been there for months/years.

I'll add Douggies promise about that law to his list of broken promises.
I thought that eat in restaurants legally had to have washrooms.

Its been a long time since I looked but my understanding is there is a formula to calculate the number of stalls you need by counting the seats.

As for pp's point, I havent heard of a restaurant closed for a bathroom incident. Build them, mark them out of order and you can probably continue on with minimal issues. Maybe if you happened to get a health inspection with bathrooms locked they would close you? I doubt it as they would rather write fix-it tickets than lock the doors.

McDs is safe to eat low octane fuel. The only things on the menu that would be part of a nutritional diet might be milk, the lettuce and the slice of tomato on a BLT. It gets you home.

I don’t think they do salads anymore.

Even when they did salads, they were higher calories and fat than the burgers. Pretend healthy.

Edit:

TH is the worst, especially for females. I think their formula is any number divided by itself = 1

I think it's ridiculous that it's come to people talking about laws to allow people to use a washroom... and it would never be an issue at a place I'm part of. But.. a law requiring people to let people into their private property.. is not going to hold up if he did try to push it through.

You aren't letting in random people though. You are letting in people invited to help you with your business.

In my mind, this isn't nearly as dumb as the bc regulation forcing portapotties for each gender at construction sites. Double the cost, almost no benefit. They are private stalls, separation by gender is stupid.

People coming and going from a shippers factory/warehouse/whatever aren't exactly strangers.

To play devils advocate however, having been in the industry for coming up on 3 decades now, I know why some places refuse to let drivers use their facilities;

- Some people are pigs and make a filthy mess of them.
- Some people decide that an invitation to walk through a plant/factory/warehouse to go use the bathroom is an open invitation to wander around going to and from and taking a little tour, and in some cases I'm guessing, "borrowing" products.
- Some people are just plain stupid and have no ability to be respectful or observant, so they walk out in front of forklifts and such, for example.
- Sometimes those facilities are not anywhere near the docks/shipping and receiving, so it means they may need to send someone with you to avoid all of the above.

Now, all that being said, there are lots of places I've been in my 29 years driving where there are bathrooms right near shipping and receiving, and I present as a clean respectable professional, and I've still be told no. So I'll go piss out between two trailers instead - these same places proabbly wonder why their dock areas smell like piss in the summer months. On a few occasions where it's been a #2 emergency the conversation with the shipper/receiver was a little more blunt and to the point and sometimes they have a change of heart, but on a few occasions even then I've been told no and had to resort to other options.

I'm sure it's more to do with perceived sanitation, IE "the men are pigs and the ladies dont' want to use their shitter", although everythign I've gathered indicates that often it's the opposite that's true.

Can't say I blame them. We got a big contract and took on some new people. I'm getting fed up with looking at their **** sprayed on the back of the bowl when I go to take a piss.

I get it. But on the flipside, if you get to look at a steaming pile on the ground between your loading docks when there's literally no other choice for some people who *would* have used the restroom respectably...and it was either that or ******** your pants, well, one is better than the other I would think.

Some ruin it for the rest.

We were doing a job at a subsidized housing project and would be there for at least a week. We went to the office to see if we could use their facilities and were told no, staff only.

My co worker and I discussed options with earshot of the office manager.

Me: "Well we can't leave the tools out so we can pack them back in the truck and drive to that burger joint a couple miles east, grab a coffee and come back. It shouldn't take more than two hours and the job is T&M.

Him: Well if it's going to be a week we can order in a site service toilet and put it in the lobby.

I was about to mention pissing in the elevator like the residents do but the manager got the message and let us use the washroom.

There was a video of a chick being refused the key to the loo based on previous drug use issues. She dropped her drawers in front of the counter and dropped the load.

The city needs to put in public washrooms that will be used for injection sites and more, left trashed.

A contractor gave me a job but warned that if I dropped a tool and it rolled under a car in the garage, don't feel for it. Get a flashlight. Hookers and druggie use the place, leaving needles and condoms everywhere.

One of those places that make you want to immediately go home and take a shower in bleach.

A place my wife used to work had a lady do that. It was just pee but smelled bad enough that staff that went to clean it up barfed. Not sure what she was on or what turned her urine toxic but she felt entirely justified in her actions.

At our warehouse/ distribution facility we built a washroom for the truckers . It’s in the same front office as our administrative team , but we can’t have our people having to go into the same crapper where a guy that’s been on the road for 2 days decide to take a shower in the sink . It’s fiberglass wall panels and a ceramic floor with a floor drain , you can turn a pressure washer on in there .

We have 2 restrooms on the side of the building and 4 porta pottys available for truckers
They appreciate that.
Building ones are open 5am to 9 pm

For your amusement....

I worked in an building with multiple businesses and common washrooms. Sometimes things got messy, there were cleaners but they came at night so the building manager would have to deal with anything mid day.

One day I printed out the number 2 filling the entire page. I put the paper on the floor in the bathroom corner and went to his office and told him someone left a giant number 2 in the corner of the men's room bathroom... the dread and then hilarity ensued.
