Throttle lock recommendation

I've use a Throttlemeister forever, I like it

The one I use I have always known as a "Go Cruise". (in case you wanted to google it.)
Also, this link has a video showing its ease of instalation and use.

I got mine at Strictly Recreation in Shelburne for $15.50.(if your on a ride up north ya can save yourself $5 bucks)

LOL

Ok, lots of options.

Safety is my first concern.

The pinch type ones, do they mar your grip at all (I have original '83 grips in great shape).

I'd like a cheap solution that works, I like the idea of being able to remove it easily for in-town (I'd rather ride twisties, highways are just to get to distant twisties ;) ).

Thanks for the many res0onses, of to do my google research. ;)

I sell an insane amount of these at work and they're pretty cheap too. They're like the ghetto one rbjeepthing posted, just less ghetto

I've been using one of these Photon Motorcycle cruise 2 all season, and have been happy.
$18 at Newmarket Suzuki (NS).
Had one break just moving it trying to center the rubber band under it, but NS replaced it under warantee.

I have one that I bought in the US and picked up another for a friend from Cycleworld Superstore on Sheppard. They have 2 sizes, my BMW uses the smaller size 7/8 and my friend's Honda Shadow needed the 1" diameter. They come in chrome :pukeright: or black :headbang:

Pardon my ignorance, but how does this work? I mean you decide you are going fast enough so you pull this throttle lock out of your pocket and snap it on? what happens when you need to slow down? wouldn't that thing get on the way... not trying to joke actually asking

You snap it on before you ride and when you get to cruising speed you push it down with your finger.

To the other poster: it did not damage my grips at all. (I used the coathanger one)

so this thing is tight enough to hold the throttle but still easy to move with your finger... also I take it when you need to drop the speed you just pull it back...

It stays on the grip all the time. Using your index finger you push the long part forward/down until it rests on your brake lever. To turn it off you simply roll your throttle forward. (As mentioned I use my thumb to roll it back up with out affecting the throttle position. I am surprised that it is actually not incorporated into the design). When not in use it works as a great "fun-o-meter" on your throttle.
The do not mar the grips that I have noticed anyway, and they actually come with a protective elastic ring that can also be used if the lock is not holding tight enough. GP for about $16, I got it on sale for $12 awhile ago.

Maybe worth mentioning but I rarely "cruise" using the throttle lock. Push it on, shake out my right arm/hand, give it a short rest, then flip the throttle lock back off. That's me though, I can ride hours and not use it but I have a friend that uses his at every opportunity....
