Seems the mods have learned to tell the difference. Wasn't always the case.
I'm watching this on my 32 inch monitor and it looks like the car in front of Ragu filtered into the silver cars spot hence why traffic in that lane slowed down but all other traffic lanes are moving. Ragu's car also stopped for 8 seconds including the rollback.
Can anyone confirm that Ragu's car only started to roll back after Sham's car came to a full stop?
Only reason why Sham is backpedding is because he doesn't want to perjur himself while Ragu is digging himself into a hole with these media comments that will bite him back in court if he's taken there. Like his argument that Sham didn't allow him to explain. Hell he instantly called the cops in less than a minute of conversation just to get a police report.
Even in a vertical fall, acceleration due to gravity would max out at 9.8 metres per second squared. How much would a fraction of a second of extra fall make in increased speed in a vertical fall? Very little. On that highway though, the slope isn't a vertical slope. It's a slight slope, so the rate of acceleration due to gravity going down that slight slope hill would be much less. The rate of roll-back speed after 4 seconds would be only minimally slower than the rate of roll-back speed after 5 seconds.
The real point shown in Brian's video remains vividly displayed. The car rolled back far enough a very few seconds that it would cover the average gap between cars stopped in stop and go traffic, all on its own and without any need for reverse gear assist.
Ok, let's accept for a moment that the "dark grey car in front of" or a couple of cars in front of him did filter into the lane in the left. Now think back on rush hour driving experiences here. Why did that lane change happen? That original lane was still a through lane and not one that would end in an off-ramp. The only tactical reasons for the lane change at this location would then be to either improve one's position or maintain movement by avoiding slower or stopped traffic in the original lane. The grey car changing lanes wouldn't eliminate the need for others cars following behind to slow or stop if the reason for that grey car's lane change was to avoid stopped traffic.

So if Ragu thought he was rear ended than it means he didn't hear the horn blaring and didn't realize he had his foot on the clutch or put the car in neutral. Also if you back up into something you'd know it since your head will jerk backwards first instead of forward. Maybe someone can do a demonstration to prove this point lol but I have backed up into a parking pole before.

I have never seen Turbodish this defensive of a motorcyclist who was involved in a collision. Just sayin' ...
In fact, even in cases where Turbodish picked a report out of the news and reported it in the "fallen riders" section (which has happened several times), I haven't been able to find a single "get well soon" or anything supportive whatsoever - even in cases where it was black and white NOT the rider's fault. Just sayin' ... If I'm wrong then point me to the evidence of that; I haven't found one ...

well, i see this thread has taken quite the CSI analysis of the situation....surprised no one has used "enhance" yet...i would just like to know why this guys brake lights fail to work...and if they work now, what needed to be done to fix them...
i've had someone reverse into me while i'm stopped behind them because they decided they didn't want to make a left...it was a tiny scratch on my bumper, she just didn't use her mirrors, i laid on the horn the moment she started reversing but it made no difference...she was really apologetic and felt terrible, offered to buy bumper paint, so i let it go and moved on...if i was in sham's position and ragu rolled back into me, ok, he's an idiot, but if he apologized, i would have let it go...no damage to my car, life goes on...however, if he was a complete dick to me and tried to scam me for money and threaten me, i would have posted the snot out of that video...which i believe is the case here...of course, with no audio to confirm this, other than the body motions of the individuals, can't be confirmed for sure...albeit, 4chan were humouring with the "deaf" person doing the lip reading, humouring to say the least...

as soon as we reach a conclusion on this thread, can we try to solve the truth behind the Kennedy assassination ?
I noticed it a while back but didn't didn't say anything publicly because of sociopaths have a habit of adapting when their odd behaviour is brought to light. we'll see if he starts saying GWS, best wishes or RIP in his threads in the fallen riders section now that his odd behaviour been pointed out.
Without the stupid music over top of the audio it might have been possible to pull a couple of words out of their conversation, at the roadside. It would have been interesting to know, for instance, if the word 'camera' was used.

Well, the word "enhanced" has been used a few posts up with respect to the video and the claims of a deaf having lip-read what was said in it. With respect to brake lights, the brakes don't appear on the car in front, but they also don't seem to appear in the cars in the lane to the left when they abruptly slow down in thefirst few seconds of the video. Do what's the cause? Were all the brakes lights on those cars disabled too? Or may there have been some lighting capture limitations with Sham's $40 dash camera? Hard to say.
I think the difference is that the lady who hit you had made the overt act of backing up as a result of a deliberate decision to not make the left turn you speak of. In other words, she knew right off the bat that her actions caused the collision.
If the 401 collision was caused by unintentional and unnoticed roll-back on an incline, then that changes recognition of cause (and subequent acceptance of responsibility) completely. If he didn't realize that he had rolled back, why would he apologize for the collision? He would, as I think many here would, figure that the driver behind him was trying to scam him, which is more than a little ironic given the circumstances and what happened after. Then he goes home, makes an insurance claim because he truly believed he had been rear-ended. Afterwards he sees the video on Youtube and has that defining face-palm moment.
4chan was taking everything presented as gospel without bothering to consider the reliability of the source, the credibility of the claim, the actual applicability of "dirt" dug up. It was all about throwing as much mud against the wall as possible, encouraging as much pile-on as possible. In the non-online world it would have been like a swarming. Even people here were eating it up without question until challenged.

I don't recall a motorcyclist ever being the target of internet vigilantes like this.
I don't make a public show to strangers of making condolences any more than I make a public show of my charitable donations. For me it's a private matter. If I know the rider, I'll make my condolences to the family in person and not for show to the world.
If you don't want discussion and rebuttal on the facts, then close this thread down. And unlike this post of your's, my responses in this thread have been to the point, on subject and without personal attack or insinuation against the person I'm responding to.
Going with that logic we should discount 99% of the garbage you come up with to support "facts"
Then I would recommend that you stay out of the "Fallen Riders" section, in future, given the mandate for posting there.
Were you at the scene? If not, then your so called facts are purely speculation, as are everyone else's in this thread. There's no way to know if this was a scam or not, so the only thing happening here is a bunch of keyboard cowboys (and cowgirls, don't wanna leave anyone out) getting their panties in a bunch.
