This Country is Going To Hell

At Elora Gorge on Sat July 27 and it looked like at least half the sites were empty. Surprised me. That's close and a fun weekend when the kids are old enough. They need to be at least 48 inches to tube.
There were many empty sites...If all I could get is a single night of camping...I'm not going. Too much packing and unpacking to for a single night.

Thurs - Mon worked for us well. So well we could've stayed a few more days since we had beer and food to spare.

The problems with your plan are multiple, although I agree with them...

1. many are drunk / high at that time...so sending them out into the wild on public roads is now bringing a new hazard in. No one in their right mind will take on that responsibility.

2. If I don't book it for myself when banned, my friend will book it for himself under my plate.

Pinery checks the names of the people at a site...but they don't check IDs. Hell we always have more than the recommended, but that's because between us and any other couple...we're over the 6 person limit anyway.
Fair enough.

1. We've called the cops and a cab. Feel free to get in the back of the one you want to leave in.

2. Without swiping ID's at park entry, it's really hard to do an effective ban. You can make it more of a pain for them to book again though.

if you`re being trespassed there's probably an opportunity to ID.

not quite sure how the laws work in Canada, typically they (police) can ask for ID but you may not be required to provide it unless they charge you with trespassing (you refuse to leave after being asked to do so).

Apparently Park Wardens have all the same powers on park land as a police officer, but the reality is that they're rarely trained, staffed or equipped to handle the belligerent groups of idiots that can develop when a bunch of kids have been drinking to excess. As for other large problem groups during the day, the parks have limited staff and I've seen issues like that even in city parks, let alone camping...

"Giani Zail Singh Sidhu, 39, of no fixed address, has been identified by police as the suspect. He’s described as male, five-foot-eight, thin, with black medium-length hair and a black beard. Sidhu was last seen wearing a powder-blue short-sleeve polo shirt, black athletic pants, navy blue prisoner issued slip-on shoes, and a white or tan bucket hat."

LMAO. Still wearing the shoes he was let out of jail in. Diversity is our strength!

I wonder if he was a recipient of Barries prisoner transfer service. CNCC dumps them downtown Barrie. Many many of them stay there and cause problems. Barrie started meeting the bus and offering free transfer to anywhere else.

Park wardens are PEACE OFFICERS, same as a cop in almost every way, so are animal control officers, Ontario Housing Community officers, public transit officers (the GO police are known as the GOSTAPO, power hungry ********), building inspectors, and CPS workers. All have the same arrest and detain powers as a cop, can demand you identify yourself for an investigation, can go on private property to investigate a crime... just like a cop.

My takeaway from this is don't be a idiot and leave the key in the ignition while pumping gas.

Nice case study. Better to catch and release or catch and deport?

How many vehicles would still start if the owner had the fob in their pocket while pumping gas?
Mine won't. It was slightly complicated to hide the key while tubing though. Lots of decent key hiding spots were close enough to allow proximity unlock.

A decade ago I had a rental subaru with proximity key with stupid range. Eating breakfast in the hotel with the key and a coworker was able to open the car. Car was more than 50' from key. We didn't check if they could start it.

EDIT:
Walked about 12km that day. Didn't see anyone being too disrepectful. A decent amount of second hand weed smoke for a smoke free park but smokers were deep in their sites and couldn't get further away from others.
That's probably because it's an alcohol and cannabis free park at all times...we did our first weekend in our new to us trailer there back in June and loved it...

Correct you let the third world in.. you will get third world at your door step.
An invasive species is one that takes over the habitat of existing species, driving them out by aggressive activities.

The Europeans did it to the natives and it became the new norm.

Now it's happening to the the Europeans and we don't like it.

Lesson 1 is third world countries are very often very lean and mean. They wouldn't have survived back home if they left coin or opportunities on the table. It is ingrained in their minds just as we have things ingrained in ours.

The Canada of the future will be more aggressive and less forgiving. Also less generous.

This country is going to hell? Let’s look globally , Israel and Iran are getting ready to nuke each other , Britain is on the brink of a civil war ( again) Venezuela is close to civil war, tbe Japan stock market crashed and the US president is a dementia patient. Things are fine here .

LOL......

It's a perspective thing.
Being up to your waist in crap is better than swimming in it, but you are still up to your waist in crap.

Years ago as well.. I was able to "steal" my buddy's srt8 while he was about 25ft away with the fob... saw it on top gear and tried it ourselves... it didn't work when there was a window in-between though.
I know I can start the wife's suv when the fob is outside it, at the back door.

Which would seem to facilitate a gas station theft. Neither my wife's car nor my car will start with key near rear of car. I havent tried key right outside passenger door.
