There be Pirates !

OK, even if there are 200, with 1 infected. They can pass it on to 199 other people. At Sturgess, which goes for over a week with early arrivals and late leavers, 1 person could likely and very easily infect 5,000.
See the difference now?

A bad idea on the sliding scale next to a colossally bad idea is still a bad idea.

But I get it. People don't like to get called out on their hypocrisy, no matter how slight.

Fair enough.

Watched the streams for about 5 minutes. Saw 2 masks, and pretty much every other rider dragging their feet. Sigh.

Imagine getting this worked up over people in another country whose actions have 0 impact on your day-to-day life

Nascar crashes have zero impact on almost everybody's day to day life. That doesn't mean millions don't watch them over and over. Fwiw, I'm not worked up. Just amazed at how much of humanity is far more concerned about their freedumbs than actually sitting back, looking at what is going on and making an informed and smart decision.

Yeah, getting up close and personal with a bunch of strangers is just plain stupid no matter where you are, but farting your way up and down the street on your trailer queen, and roaming around afterwards COULD be done with out dropping dead.

Indeed. If people are smart. Which has been demonstrated over and over again to the rest of the world in the last 4 months, many in the USA are not.

The problem with Sturgis is the overwhelming numbers. When I was there last year the week before Sturgis, even then many outdoors areas were packed - At the "eye of the needle" on Needles Highway for example there had to have been 50 people in the little turning loop all packed on the one side taking photos, watching a bus scrape it's way through, etc etc. Restaurants were busy. Bars were packed. Campground bathrooms and showers were busy and not particularly sanitary, either. And that was the week *before* the main event. We got the heck out of dodge the day before Sturgis officially began - we were there for the Black Hills and the surrounding areas (and the nice long ride honestly) more so than the Sturgis experience itself.

Just doing the MYOB routine and riding is all fine, but unfortunately when you get that number of people together there comes a time when you're going to have to share your space, be it indoors, or out...and if anyone thinks that people are going to socially distance and wear masks at Sturgis, well, they don't really grasp the demographic.

It's a total **** show. All the "I just bought my first Harley, a 1000# full dresser of course" crowd feel the need to rush to Sturgis.

Saw guys drop their bikes pulling into gas stations, out of parking lots, nearly plowed into one guy on Iron Mountain Road who was white knuckle duckwalking around one of the corkscrews, absolutely terrified.

Like I said, glad I went the week before. If that was the shartshow the week before, I'm pretty sure it only got worse once all the 500 mile a season riders arrived. We had to leave anyways, not 1 of the 4 of us on the trip were on Harleys - 3 metrics and a Spyder. I'm sure during the actual week of Sturgis however we'd have been run off the road if any of us dared ride down "the strip".

Cleetus,

where do we even start?

Theoretically, if the British monarch is calling for America to be made great again, wouldn't that imply retaking it as a colony??

all for it, teach these clowns some manners

Neil waited until he was a citizen to really be open with his thoughts/actions
he was very close to being deported by the Trump admin not long ago

Tons of people there, not many face masks. Covid19 will live forever in the USA

UM, there is so much wrong with this statement. The more cases of Covid19 that grow in the US ups the risk to contaminate Canada.

What the US does, impacts our lives directly.
