There be Pirates !

This whole thread just reeks of GTAM getting riled up about (((Harley riders))).

Nope. This thread would (imo) read exactly the same Sturgis was a gathering of ss riders, scooter riders or Corvette owners.
But you can cry "Harley" if it makes you feel better.
Jeez. Even in a pandemic Harley guys think it's all about them lol.

Yup. Daytona bike week will get the same questioning looks if things are still burning when it happens.

yup

and BBW in Myrtle Beach next month
not many Harleys, but it'll be in the news
and we'll be watching

the spring one was cancelled and rolled into this one
they are expecting big crowds, and probably BLM protests

bikes, beaches, bars, racial conflicts, cops, covid
should be a top notch 'murican sh1t show

The **** show has been happening in the boat world to, and equally scorned...

Typical Ontarians. See people having fun and they're outraged.

Are you just trolling, or are you one of those people who think this whole covid thing is just a big joke?

Lets clear things up. I’ll wait.

Look at all the duckwalkers.

Will be interesting to see where this leads.

The reason events like Sturgis (and not just Sturgis, spring break, whatever) are a large(r) concern is that people come in from all over (long distances), do not take precautions and exchange viral infections with each other...then take their newly acquired infection long distances back home to spread the wealth on the way and at home. The bubble is now country wide.

The idiots on the boats near the island are still really stupid but most are "locals" and they are mostly spreading it in the local bubble. Still bad but much worse if they sailed in from PEI and Vancouver, hit the boat party, and then sailed back home.

One guy looked kinda sick.

and did you see that rider that got going a bit fast and had to deploy the emergency ?? brakes! (y) impressive riding skills

You'd almost think it was impulse, must work for them,
taking their feet off the controls completely, must be fitted with that there FBS*

Why Sturgis? Are there nice twisties/scenic roads out there? Relaxed helmet laws? What gives?

Sturgis itself, as in the event, is like PD13.

Just south of Sturgis is the black hills. Amazing roads with a huge capital A. To the west, the Bighorn mountains, Devils Tower, Yellowstone if you’re adventurous. Generally a cool area. Sturgis itself, meh.

However 75% of the people who go to Sturgis have no business at all on most of those roads as they can barely make it out of town without nearly dropping their bikes 5 times leaving their campsite / gas station / bar.

It's been going on there since 1938. It was originally a hill-climb event organized by a local motorcycle club. It's always been popular because it gets you away from pretty much everything. There's no helmet law in that state, and most states around there. As for Covid, you have to admire the Americans. They lack the kind of neurotic insecurity that Canadians have. They call it stupid up here, but to Americans its just living, and to hell with the risks.

And to hell with the neighbour, coworker, friend, family or anyone else you may come in contact with. One word. Selfish.

Well if that's what you're worried about, become a Canadian.

And I don't admire the Americans.

Many Canadians will respond this way, but they'll line up for hours at the U.S. border to go vacation there every year. Then they'll whine and cry if they're not let in. Canada truly is a nation of leftist hypocrites.
