Oh please, all of those hobbies have fashion aspects, if you know about them. No cool in drag racing..right.

Now if only the dealer in Woodbridge would actually stock some Indian bikes and not just Ducati's I would be a much happier rider....[/QUOTE]

Didn't they go out of business?

Can't think of another technical hobby where so much is given up for cool.

Please tell us one that doesn't do this.

Uncharacteristically, I think you missed the point. Look at the equipment used in any sport. There seems to be a never ending evolution of refinement in design and material to help extract as much performance as possible. Some of the hype associated with the gains might be questionable but the goal is to always move forward.
This would include high end sport bikes. Some colour schemes, graphics, rim tape and mohawk helmets etc., while nauseating to the extreme, don't detract from the performance.
Baby Scout is a different story. Everything about it is designed to pander to a certain headspace and that headspace has nothing to do with riding the best possible functioning piece of equipment. The opposite actually.

The goal is to sell more stuff. There is fashion, hype and nostalgia in every sport.
