The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

74,000km. In GTA's market that is death. Divide that asking price in half and that is what he'll sell for.

Yeah, I don't know what it is about this market that makes people so afraid of high mileage bikes. There are lots of bike on the road running clean at 100+ km, and some models pushing 200+ and still going strong.

High milers tend to fit into one of two buckets - either they've been ridden hard and put away wet and are ready for the scrap heap, or they've been well maintained, have lots of long highway miles on them and are good to go another 50 - 100 km.

Buyers market. Seller's frustration.

I'd rather have a 100 km cared for bike than a 25 km bike that's been through 3 owners who've used it for racing stoplights, doing wheelies and trying to look cool for the ladies...

It's mostly lack of experience with motorcycles. People have no clue about them.
What doesn't help is that majority of bike owners don't ride much or not at all.
That's how you end up with 5K units that are 10 years old. By comparison, I put anywhere from 10,000-15,000km a year on my machines.

Then again, some people don't accept the reality of this weird market we have and think their 20 year old, 100,000km bikes are worth a gold mine. It works both ways.

It's got 46,000 km on it and that's barely broken in.

A Honda or Suzuki motor will go forever....we have one Strom rider that does ride reports....he just hit 370,000 miles on his 650 without ever cracking the motor and it uses no oil.

People are seriously stupid about mileage. I'm far more nervous of a 5 year old bike with yilch mileage on it.

The good thing about it is I get great deals cuz ignorant buyers are scared off inappropriately :D

As far as Classic bikes...it's a thriving market for a variety of reasons.....a working Honda 305 Hawk from the mid 60s is worth way more than when it new.

Insurance is cheap on them and again some of the Japanese motors just go and go.

Yep. Rode with a dude today who had 173K on his thumper. Was expecting to get another 50K out of it. German bikes just keep going on forever...

As far as the whole "classic" Japenese thing goes, think the whole cafe racer trend is driving prices far past reasonable. Supply and demand, sure, but just not worth the money people are asking. Everyone wants to be a "builder" these days; just can't wait to get their hack job on the Instagram...

Wow.

That is one butt-ugly headlight.

But wow.
I was thinking the same thing. Saw the bike in the URL, thought, "Oh that'll be exciting." Clicked the link and dropped my phone at the sight of it.

Ok not quite but it's a pretty ugly bike IMO. lol

You guys are crazy. Imo that's the best generation Tuono in terms of aesthetics. I love the headlight!
