The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

OK deal, those bikes were pretty tough and quite easy to work on.

Non running can mean a lot. Could be a simple as cleaning a carb ($30 bucks) or a lot more if you're talking about a full teardown. Those early YPVS motors aren't simple and parts are really pricy. That isn't really a collectable, although all 2 stroke street legal bikes are gaining value.

The stupid prices you see on old DTs are up to 1975, the last of the old school 'twinshocks'.

I was thinking of offering $800. It’s been up for a few weeks.

Imagine if your Ninja 250 had 150 HP - don't you think it would have been even more fun? What would change other than having more power on tap?
I can tell you my 200hp Hayabusa was less thrilling... maybe if I ran her stupid or on a track things would be different.

The Ninja was screaming 11000 RPM in 5th gear to reach Section 172, the Hayabusa might still be in 1st.

I'm gonna say that is a '83 GSX1100 or GS1100E
84+, best visual clues are the passenger footrest brackets, trapezoidal gauge cluster and the seat. It would be way more obvious though if the side panel wasn't missing

I guess we both have different perspectives. I don't get much out of redlining a motor, even on track. I very much enjoy feeling the torque pull during a roll-on. 172 is a matter of self control.

For some odd reason 1984/85 is 1100 only 1986 has 1100/1150 different colours same specs. Bought a few for gs750 swaps.

I haven't found a bike yet with a self control feature - is that aftermarket or new tech?

I love the look of these. Good price considering the mileage.
