oh crap, thats why the ad disappeared for a few minutes...
It originally stated blue plated. surprising how many people get this mixed up; Im guessing someone must have contacted him and asked about STREET ownership. he then changed the ad.
yeah, too bad. I agree, blue plated 2 stroke dirt bikes are rare. ty for pointing out.

^ price seems okay
seller says Cosmetically and mechanically in great condition
but it's clearly been down on the right side, looks minor
right side dump is better than left where the shifter shaft can be damaged

a brake lever is what....$30 ? wonder why these guys that dump bikes continue to ride with a bent lever

good choice for a first bike, you will probably have a little dump anyway, so don't be put off by scratches
but have a damn good look to see nothing else is damaged

Yep , it looks like it was laid down. I myself laid down a bike during my course , which resulted in a bent shifter lever , which they then bent back out with hand.
Price is probably cheaper then others as it is farther away from toronto , have to figure transport costs too.
Thanks for the reply!

a hard dump on the left can actually bend the shaft that enters the transmission
this is a very bad deal...member here not long ago bought a bike in that condition
ran fine, looked okay, bought it, got it on the road, and it would not go past 3rd gear

this bike looks to not have any problems like that
but it underscores the need to have a very good look
and a test ride

Looks reasonable, he probably can't afford the insurance.

... transmission can be damaged in a couple of ways if you impact the shifter badly, broken casing or damaged seal where the shaft exits the transmission, bent shifter forks which can also happen if a person Stomps on the shift lever to change gears.

Thanks , I didn’t think of that.
My drop on the left was literally , just laying it down , slow speed turning and got unbalanced , and couldn’t hold it upright. Wasn’t my finest moment but wasn’t my worst either.

P.S. Plan on needing to buy a new chain and the best way to see if the old one still has life in it is to lay it along side the new chain and compare their lengths.

... air filters are not cheap, probably around 40 bucks+ and if there are mice where you store the bike put a wire mesh over the air intake opening.

... wheel bearings are cheap, replace them if they develop any detectable play in them.

You plan to service your own motorcycle, right?

You can't transfer plates between owners.

I know. But you can leave old plates on. Know of an instance where car was sold and plate got left on , old owner didn’t care , new owner got car for rebuild so didn’t need new plates on at that time.

How long ago was that? You can transfer plates between immediate family members though.

RE: 250 expired plate: Could be the previous owner left them on, not knowing they are under their name.
