The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread

can you guys do Northfield + Weber tim hortons @ 5:30? probably about an hour ride.

see you guys then, red vfr 1200

Been cruising around quite a bit this week and seems like I'm only running into crazy riders lately. Yesterday I was out for a ride and a CBR came up next to me at a red light and we decided to cruise for a bit but after about 5 mins it turned into lane splitting on city streets at 160. I'm all for a good spirited ride but if you're going to ride like that I'm heading the opposite direction. And that's happened 3 times this week, running reds, close calls, man some people must love the adrenaline rush hahaha  Is there anybody in the Tri-Cities that likes to ride without loosing their license?¿

Yeah, no thanks. That kind of **** is just stupid. That's what makes people think all bikers are a holes.

License?

Im just kidding! I also like to ride without the popo on my back

Exactly. But the majority of riders I've met in KW so far seem to ride like this. :dontknow:

All for spirited fun, but outside of the city. People riding like that in the city limits are just asking for problems with the popo and other drivers.

That's where it should be done, once you get on the back roads/out of the city tear it up all you want, but when everyone else is going 40 and traffic is thick it's a good idea to take er easy for a bit.

Anyone riding this afternoon?

lane splitting/sharing itself is fine, doing it at high speeds is asking for trouble, I agree...but people, just because you're not good at or comfortable doing something, or it's illegal, doesn't mean you should hate on it.

I've been around the KW area during my visit, maybe you were shaking your fist/head at me ;)

no excessive speeding in the city for me though, good way to get killed by a left turner.

if anyone posts up a ride for tomorrow I'm down, I would lead one myself but not really familiar with good bike roads in ONT/KW

keep things tame in town, on the back road, under the right conditions, that's up to you. Just be careful though there are a lot of mennonites/cyclists on the backroads around here.

hockey tonight, then packing for the track tomorrow

No hate here, I split and pass when its safe to do so but you will never see me going over 100 through cars that are barely moving and constantly changing lanes, and when your clipping mirrors you're just being unsafe, which is why I called the other rider crazy. Time and a place for everything right?!

I cant wait to see all the posts about boo hoo I got an HTA 172, gut feeling there will be many of those this year.
