The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

Do you guys think I over-reacted? In my mind, I didn't think there was a harm in sending police out to at the very least investigate.

If I witnessed a truck swerving I wouldn't keep close behind. Didn't you feel the gravel and grit getting picked up? Also at 2:40 when you finally did pass the truck, looks like you didn't continue passing but just stayed in the left lane at the same speed as the truck ahead in the middle lane, hopefully you weren't beside the truck that was swerving.

I had to watch that video a few times to see exactly what I was supposed to be looking at...wow...and then I recognized the location. Not surprising, people fly down that onramp and the idiot-deflectors end before the curve straightens out.

Someone with a stationary cam could get some good footage at the Ritson Road offramp a little further down the highway, people crash there all the time - they put in cement barriers and they have plenty of battle scars. They've actually had to replace them a few times. Surprised they don't have them at the Simcoe onramp as well, although giving cars something else to look at would screw with traffic even more than it usually is at this onramp I'm sure - one of the worst in the area for people not merging properly.

I actually wasn't following that close. I didn't feel any gravel. I pulled in close a couple times to get an accurate reading of his license plate. Sound was muted because I'm trying to figure it out aloud.

Not quite sure how you think at 2:40 I was cruising beside him, I must have passed his entire truck within 2 to 4 seconds.

The uncut video is 10 minutes. I go in front of the truck for 5 minutes so I could get my Bluetooth connected. when i passed him I wanted to see if he was on the phone or something, but then I realized my car was too low so then kept moving along to overtake him. Lol.

The only time I purposefully cruised beside the swerving truck was when I wanted to give it's description to the OPP. Risky move because he put me into the rumble strips.

Oh well, I'm fine, cars fine, hopefully they got him later on down the road.

That's exactly why I don't put my signal on until I've passed any other driveways.

Exactly. For example there's a really long exit lane from Derry westbound to Steeles northbound. About 3/4 of the way down it there's an entrance to a gas station. If you have your signal light on before that, you're at serious risk of having someone jump out of the gas station in front of you, when you really intend to turn on Kennedy.

LOL - Commerce Valley Drive turning north towards Hwy 7? Gotta love those incorrectly banked turns - just like the other one on CV just west of Leslie. Unless that was your first time on that turn - should have known to slow it down.
