Individual states largely have their own laws to deal with firearms. Many of these states have fewer gun homicides (per capita) than our country, fwiw.

Parents drinking, smoking, and buying McDonalds infringe on their childrens' right to life and well-being all the time.

There is no push whatsoever to ban these substances

Sorry but you are wrong, There most certainly is.

Really? Not hearing much about it in mainstream media every time a drunk driver kills a pedestrian...

Comparing a single State to a country is not exactly a legitimate comparison.

Compare any State to Saskatchewan and get back to me.

Im not the one drawing comparisons. Our firearms laws are federal, theirs vary by state.

Sorry, what?

They don't report drunk driving incidents or there is no anti drunk driving campaign?

Are you drunk right now? :)

Maybe you're the drunk one. Im saying politicians and mouthpieces don't get on CNN calling for prohibition of alcohol every time a drunk kills someone.

For someone who asks "who cares about America" you seem to post a lot about it. :)

I tend to agree though. My thoughts on the USA and their problem (or not a problem as you see it) are just that. Off topic retoric on a Canadian motorcycle forum.

They are just suggestions as I'm quite happy with our laws because they seem to work. I would like a few of them changed but I can't see it happening so I don't jump up and down about it.

Stop asking for retarded comparisons with SK if you really don't care. Im fairly sure there are a number of states with lower homicide rates than Saskatchewan.. if you want the info, you'll have to use some brain power to gather it yourself, sorry.

Your type of complacency sure didn't play a role in ridding us of the LGR. Thanks for the effort.

I don't see any problem with the LGR. I know that's a crying point for wackos but it didn't do any harm. You think so, but that's your problem.

BTW: The Government got rid of the LGR because of the cost. Not because of redneck tears. :)

And I don't need to look up the obvious. If you thought there was a State with lower rates you would have bothered but you know the obvious too.

Vermont might be a competitor, since you care so much about comparing stats with the US.

The LGR was a nuisance and now its gone, and my life is a tad bit easier. A small smidge of freedom back in our favour, and one less government database full of my personal information. A win for the law-abiding gun owners of Canada.

edit: homicide rate per 100k in Vermont- 1.3; in SK- 4.1

Off you go, troll.

And the government got rid of the LGR because of pressure from VOTERS, troll. Sit there and reap the benefits of our hard work, troll.

Go stroke your black barbie rifles...

Doing some googling are we? You sound concerned, after-all. Mallcop.

Tell us more about "wackos" who wanted the LGR gone please...

Says the guy with what the CBC would call an 'assault arsenal' in his possession.

"Wacko" right?

I wonder if your tone and sentiments change when you're at the range with fellow gun owners. Surely you make it known to them that they're wackos if they supported abolishing the LGR, right?
