Suzuki of Newmarket

My dealings with SON happened the other day. Been there like twice before over the years...once just to look at what they had. And another time to see if I could get some ebc brake pads for the Buell. The guy at that time a few years ago was as hepful as going the Can trash. I ordered from the internet it was easier and cheaper.
Anyways I was looking for a Yuasa battery for the Buell...I checked Yuasa site and they have a battery for my bike I wrote down the number. Yuasa are sold by SON....seems like a plan to give them a call.
First call went to the switchboard girl...nice but a lil dense...asked for someone who could tell me if they had a battery for my bike. Waited for a minute or so...line goes dead. Oops call again....different lady....wait patiently again a couple mins. The phone rings...but its the lady again. She'll try again.....wait wait...nuthin. I hang up call again same lady answers....she says they are all busy she guesses leave a message they will get back to you....ya right I aint waiting around. So I waited 20 mins or so called back....talked to girl at switchboard again....phone rings through but it's a recorded message to leave a number they will call you back. Ya sure...wait 10 mins or so call again....talked to a lady and after waiting got through to a parts guy. He wasn't interested at all.....you could just tell...anyways asked if they sold Yuasa...ya they do...do you have one for a Buell....no. Yuasa makes one for my bike....we don't buy from Yuasa we buy from Parts Canada....ya I know but they must be able to get one some how. I wait for a bit he comes back from who knows where ...2 to 3 week wait back ordered. Great...thanks so much.
I check at GP site....ya they sell Yuasa...phone....talk to nice girl...passes me on to other nice girl. Tell them what I want...give her the # for the battery. She says they have a battery with a different # slightly...let me check. Back in a flash she says all cool, she says the battery # I have is factory sealed. The one they have they will fill and charge...no problem. Come and get it anytime.
Easy pleasant experience...when I go the next day...battery is done and waiting. The guy I get it from verifies that it's the correct battery....phones some people just to make sure 100% .
Awesome dude...nice people...helpful but I had to drive a hour to get it.
SoN is 5 mins away what a joke.
Told the guy about SoN saying it was back ordered and how helpful they were he just laughed and said they are unbelievable when it comes to service.

This place makes me laugh. Last time I went there they managed to order the wrong wheel bearing kit. Took me 2 further trips to sort it out. Today I went and the upstairs accessories dept was locked. 12.30 in the middle of the day and it was locked up. The sign on the door with their opening hours said they were open Mondays.

What a place. So much business they can afford to shut their accessories dept in the middle of the day.

everyone buys their bikes from them - that what keeps them in Business. The other store the OP mentioned is a 1/2hr drive for me, but is worth it as their customer service is top notch compared to the clowns running motorcycle shops in the GTA.

I love these SoN stories they just get better all the time. Ya know if someone went in there and straightened up there service dept these guys would make a killing.

I think they are already making a killing so they don't have to worry about straightening up too much.

There has to be some good stories out there. If they were that bad, they wouldn't be around. No?

Oh, trust me speaking from experience the bad stories are true. Some of them are stories that most companies would have gone under by now. I would never recomend anybody to them, not even to my worst enemies.

Not my fault, I stopped working there September 1st to go back to school. Told my boss a few times I'd be going and then got a call while at school asking where I was. I guess that's what happen when he goes on a vacation and doesn't post the schedule for the next month. Oh well. No idea why they'd be closed at that time though, I know before I left I heard that there might be a whole bunch of staff shuffling, and maybe with me gone there too few staff for full hours. Not sure what to tell ya

I am sure that you did a great job whilst you where there, true gossip.(Good Luck at school)I haven`t been back there since I bought my SV 1000S in 2006. Or ever will be. Way too many horror stories and they still continue.

OK here's mine:

Bought bike there pretty good deal.
Told I get 20% discount upstairs. I wanted a few things but was told not on Suzuki stuff just non OEM.

LIARS. so I bought the parts elsewhere

Look at my used 2002 Bandit 1200 that I traded in.

They have it listed as a 1250 and damaged. unless they dropped it it is not>

Ok guys just to clear things up. I spoke with their former accesories manager, David Cyna, 2 weeks back. He was quite ****** and told me all the staff in accesories will soon be quiting. What a shame because that was the only honest dept at Suzuki of Newmarket. SON what a joke!!!!

Like i said in an earlier post, they could be such a great company with the right people. Hire me for 100g's i will turn it around right quick lol A shame about the accesory dept as i have heard they were good. Good luck Amazon in your schooling. Good carrer move i'm thinking

I went up today to SON to look for a jacket as I bought a GSXR 1000 this week.I was upstairs looking around and I saw a few leather jackets.
I looked for my size (46) but the smallest was a 48. I tried the coat on and it was a better fit than I expected so I looked at the price and it had been marked down 5 times to $175.
I picked the coat up for under $200 with tax.I live in Ajax and usually only shop a GP but today it was worth the drive to get a great deal.
The woman working there was very helpful and she said I was getting the coat below cost.
I pays to shop around
Later
Bob
