Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

Usually when people say things are "mint" I want to punch them in the face, because that word has been overused to the point of meaninglessness. However, that bike is mint.

Definitely mint.

“Small rock chips on lower fork legs. Small rock chips on leading edge of front fender. Front fender has two small areas on rear edge where paint has chipped and one very small spot by left bracket. Dent on backside of front fender. Few small light scratches in windscreen. Ghost images of the number (93) on rear number plates. Warning label on fuel tank smeared from race fuel. Small dent in number four headpipe of Kerker exhaust. Exhaust has been repainted with a different Gun-Kote, non Kal Guard. Missing one of the original exhaust springs on headpipe.”

i'm huge in the honda community and that car in it self is worth $1000-1800 and that's being generous. sorry, don't really wanna sound like a dick, but EM civic 01-05 are the worst civics ever made.

Thats the price range I would think so too. $1500 at most! Dang some cars are so overpriced here.

Anyway, lets get back on track - isnt there any other ads to make fun of?

Definitely mint.

Yeah they list all that **** but have you actually looked at the photos? I can see the "small rock chips on fork legs", and the "warning label smeared with fuel" (the horror!) but the rest I don't know if I'd ever notice.

For an 82 it's in amazing shape.

Unless that thing has comes with a mint leaf and it's chew able, any description with the words "rock chips" and "mint" don't belong together.

Thankfully, the cafe hipster craze has come and gone. Lots of guys think they can rich from restoring old Japanese bikes.
I can tell you that bike will run like crap with those pod air filters.

When I see a long list of mods, i usually just turn away. Thats just my gut

It all depends on the mods.

P.S. For anybody who ever wants to recover money from modifications:
1. Keep your stock parts
2. Sell the mods SEPERATELY

Edit: Lol, didn't notice that was 8 pages ago

As we have debated before, how can it be mint with (admittedly) minor damage? Also, Honda were selling these for $2250 or so last year (as in, brand new).

Edit: This is in reply to 1165 in this thread... forgot to quote

With proper jetting, pod filters will work perfect on any bike with a carburetor(s)

Some of these cafe racer bikes are just ridiculously priced.

Polish up a 40 year old bike... do no mechanical work... put some cafe bars on it. = Instant price hike to $10,000

I had a 93 Civic that was a total POS rust bucket, I can't believe someone paid me $2000 for it and I had a line up of buyers.

Sold for 2500 :p

Here's something VERY interesting. I posted my first ad with LOTS of technical info on what I did to the car. I fixed a lot of things on it. Suspension, tranny, steering, brakes, locks... listed everything.

I sent the ad to two friends to review it. The techie one praised it for all the info. The marketing buddy said my ad has too much info and would turn people away. Apparently doing maintenance on your car "shows that it had problems". If you know cars you know stuff needs to be replaced at 200K+, but I guess most people don't know crap.

I barely got any inquiries.

A week latter I got my GF to write an ad. She wrote a very simple ad. My marketing buddy said the ad was perfect. The techie buddy said the ad lacked maintenance info.

Second ad got my car sold in five hours.

So, simple ads apparently sell much better. I don't even bother contacting simple ads, but I guess I am in the minority.

But the tyre's have only been used one season!

Can we count accessories too? I don't think word has gotten out that...ahem...Contour is out of business and even Future Shop is pumping out old stock at $99. Guys with five year old camera's selling them at MSRP make me chuckle (save the tax!)
