Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

Kawi's msrp for a 2017 is 4899, theres still a few left at my local kawi dealer. And if I am buying a used bike the taxes and fees the seller paid for the bike from a dealer in my opinion don't count towards the resale value
Ahh, didn't realize there were still 2017s around, I only searched 2018 and 2019.

Fun fact, when I went to register my 2015 Ninja 300, the UVIP didn't have a value for taxes soooo, yeah you can definitely save money there when you show them the bill of sale.

Motorcycles don't have a book value. It's always blank on the UVIP. However, random checks are performed where the MTO will send out letters to both the buyer and the seller, asking the price the vehicle was bought and sold at. If the prices doesn't match, then be prepared to pay the taxes back in full with a fine and interest.

I've remember reading people usually toss those letters out.

I've never heard of that, but I guess that's why both parties need to be on the same page when it comes to "actual" selling price.

2017 was the last year for the 300 according to kawi's website. So I just went with that year.

The MTO does not have values for any bikes. They are always open for gaming the system. You can do it with cars as well, it just takes more work (one appraisal or bill showing as is/not running/requires repair at a low value and another done at a later date showing the fixed/repaired state and value).

Fixed your link ;)

But people think they can get the entire value back, tax included.

Thanks. I also forgot that Husqvarna has a promotion on. So currently if you buy new you also get a $1000 helmet and jacket from Husky. Zero incentive to buy used for more money lol.

yup

seller prolly financed the whole thing
taxes and all
and for whatever reason needs out of it now
2 months after buying it

gonna take a pounding if he really needs it gone quickly
@ 4,000 kms it's lost I'd say 20% of it's value
it's worth 5,500 to 6,000
but that is unlikely to clear the lien on it

I didn't even know that Husqvarna made bikes...nice bike. Way too much money for me though.

That's because you still don't know what you are looking at, look closer.
Start with the power to weight ratio and work outwards towards the superior frame brake and suspension components.
;) then ride one.

An unbranded W/O recently sold for $3K at insurance auction. Make sure you can review the UVIP if you're looking.
