Fair enough, are sellers naive enough to ....
or are they just looking for an even more naive buyer to bail them out

Unless it's a radical restomod, the most expensive vintage bikes comes are either complete & unmolested or complete restored to OE spec. Your can make a dirty bike look nice by cleaning it up and adding a few aftermarket parts -- not going to make it a high value item....Not sure if it is worth that price, but I do definitely think it is worth more then a stock R80 from that year. Really like the looks of this bike, if insurance was reasonable for a second bike and it was priced around $8k I would be giving it some serious thought.
Oh god, another victim. I wonder when people will finally get the message that chopping up a $4,000 bike doesn't add $25,000 to its sale price. It more often then not reduces your sale price by $2,000.Uhhh, wut? Really?? Cool bike but 30k USD?

seats are different too....EDIT:
That one may be a straight-up scam actually. Terrible small pictures with a non-Ontario plate with three different mufflers shown in the four pictures. Also two different engines. Super-poorly put together scam.
Why would you want a brand new Kawi Z650ABS when you can get the near 30-year-old bike with some patina.
There always way overpriced at that placeWhy would you want a brand new Kawi Z650ABS when you can get the near 30-year-old bike with some patina.

I'm really glad people are just bad at posting kijiji ads and their prices instead of expecting ridiculous sums of cash for their stuff.

Many starter bikes for sale are priced at the balance remaining on loan. Sellers either don't know or don't care that the buyer has to pay tax again or that they can walk into a dealer and get something new for less. Why are all used 300 class bikes priced out of the ball park, you can get a new one for 4899, or the used one for 300 more...
I agree that bike is overpriced by at least $1000 and I have seen a few others listed for over 5k, but where can you buy a new 300 for under 5k? I did a quick search and couldn't find any for that price range. Aside from the suzuki (250, though) the Honda and Kawasaki are listed over 5k with the yamaha priced over 6k. Most used ones I see are in the 3k to 4k range. Why are all used 300 class bikes priced out of the ball park, you can get a new one for 4899, or the used one for 300 more...
Kawi's msrp for a 2017 is 4899, theres still a few left at my local kawi dealer. And if I am buying a used bike the taxes and fees the seller paid for the bike from a dealer in my opinion don't count towards the resale valueI agree that bike is overpriced by at least $1000 and I have seen a few others listed for over 5k, but where can you buy a new 300 for under 5k?
