Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

You can get the dual yosh for well under 2k online shipped to your door.
I understand where you're coming from but no one will buy that for even what you mentioned. And if someone does I'm sure when they decide to sell it their ad will also end up in this thread.

Also.. with regards to $8600 otd. No one is going to pay for the tax or freight/pdi etc.. that YOU paid when you got it. It's not an $8600 bike it's a $6999 bike new. We will be paying tax when we register the used vehicle so that has no need to be factored into the "used" price. Can't expect to recoup those costs.

And again with the pipe. He would be much better off returning the bike to stock and selling the pipe separately. You cannot expect mods to add the full value on top of the bike. Just doesn't work that way. I have a feeling he's keeping it unless the price is lowered significantly.
Bingo. Exactly how I see it.

Yeah I didn't think about paying taxes on a used bike. The $2100 was from Fortnine, cheapest I've found now is about $1700. I did see one for sale for a while on Kijiji back in April for $1200. The only problem with it is you can't use a centre stand.

I bet come Spring it will have sold for $8500. But you can't sit here and tell me that bike is worth $6000 either. Plus now is the wrong time to try and sell a bike. Come mid summer, every kid with an 03 DRZ wants $4800.

I saw this posted the other day. Wicked deal if you were looking for one:

^Not bad actually

Its not your bike is it?

To be fair to that guy, a 2016 SM was $8600 out the door for me, and a Twin Yoshi Carbon pipe in Canada is about $2100 after tax. Not saying its worth $9500, but it isnt a $7000 bike either.
True enough. It's a $4000 bike.

It's the same bike it was 15 years ago. All you're paying for is a bigger number on the vin plate, and some different strickers and wheel colour.

I bought one with a built motor and a ton of upgrades for less than half of what he is asking.

How did it hold up, with a rebuild motor? What year/miles/condition was it in?

9600 is nearing ktm territory and they are 50HP bikes out of the box, something a drz would be hard-pressed to achieve. The drz doesn't even have a rev counter.

The DRZ would bother me a lot less if Suzuki lowered the MSRP or updated the bike in any way at all

why charge 70$ a bottle for a life saving pill when you can charge 700?

That's the bizarre thing. Suzuki doesn't have market exclusivity on supermoto style bikes - anybody could be building them. But Suzuki is using fully depreciated assets to build something that has less tech but costs more than a Ninja 300, CBR500R, or FZ-07. Those bikes aren't directly comparable, of course, but the closest thing was the WR250X while it was still being made, and that was not cheap (but it was at least a modern design).

Yeah they're not putting any $ into RD, or updating, or building new factories, its essentially the same concept as over charging for Photocopying, when all they should be charging for is the paper and the ink.

Supply and demand.

people keep paying and they'll keep charging what the market forces demand. We would all do the same thing.

Something something if it ain't broke something something....

Nope. I'd ask $15000 for my bike lol

Husqvarna and KTM make the 701/690, which would be the ultimate sumo yet twice the price of a DRZ. I do wish more companies made them, so that Suzuki would have some motivation to update their bikes.

Lets all pray that 2018 is the year for EFI/6 speed upgrades on the DRZ, this is the year, I can feel it .:lmao:

I fully expect that some day soon Suzuki will just drop the DRZ without updating it (maybe at the same time as the Savage, which they have now been building for 30 years)

More than likely, people will just keep buying the WR250R NEW, the better bike in almost every respect, (besides the used market where the DRZ holds its own due to reputation, and lower prices)

Eh, it's more expensive than a DRZ if you want a supermoto. Excel/Warp9 rims&tires are like $1500-2000 new. Yeah you could eBay Chinese rims, but for the sake of arguement, lets assume you are going to put decent stuff on a new bike.

I bought the DRZ over the WR because of the aftermarket support is better, quicker off the line, better highway passing power, and its cheaper.

WR is lighter, has better suspension travel, has FI, and has USD forks if i recall.

Almost forgot, the WR is probably better on the highway as well(6th gear) oh....and its cheaper than the drz ($7199 for wr....$7600 for drz MSRP)

If i wanted a bike that was quicker off the line, and passing power, id get a street bike ;)

Dinosaurs will die off, its only a matter of time

The torque on the Z though... 23.9 ft-lbs vs 14.4... I am lazy and like to just power through things sometimes rather than finding the correct gear out of necessity on a smaller bike. Maybe I should move to a DR650 next. :)
