Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

For some reason as soon as someone stretches their bike they think it turns into gold

There's a guy on the MGSO page on Facebook with a beat up 1984 Seca 750, no ownership, asking $1500.

AND he's giving up pride of ownership?? I wonder if he's ever been in a parade?

$3900 for a 2007 Yamaha FZ6, which is not a bad deal (even though mid-2000's FZ1s are in that range.) But if you want the windscreen deflector that's currently on the bike and that I have no use for otherwise, it'll cost ya an extra hundred. You want the seat? $400.

I understand the desire to recoup the cost of farkles, but come on.

This FZ6 has been on Kijiji a LONG time. Probably close to a full year at least.

The way he made the ad almost offends you. Like his mission is to empty your wallet as much as possible so i can see exactly why it's not selling.

On a side note, that's the first time I've heard of Top Sellerie seats. I looked them up, and the ordering screen gave me anxiety

That's what I was about to say...but weird, it does indeed appear to be gone.

I wonder if, as GreyGhost mentioned above, it was actually pissing people off when that tool showed actual valuation vs their pipe dream were somewhat apart and they just wouldn't list as a result. Now they just act stupid and let people list no matter what.

Kijiji has really killed Trader I'm sure, I remember when it used to be cost money to list in their magazine, and then the magazine cost quite a bit to actually buy. Now it's all free. Do they even print the monthly magazine anymore, or is it all just online?

Found one... works for cars anyway. Has some bikes, but few results for bikes: http://www.carpages.ca/tools/valuefinder/

Too funny, cobbled together, runs s@#ty, tank creamed $2000 or wheel and deal on a sport bike. I'm thinking this guy needs to stop the meth

Better read Eljay's response above and follow the link - apparently they can be valued at more than twice that in better shape.

I don't get it, but meh..silly collectors.

you'd be lucky to buy a nice kicker for that bike for $200!!

I'd take $1800 from a GTAM member :)

Having restored an old VJMC, I would think by the time you would see anywhere near 2k+ for this bike you would be into it for at least $1.5K and hundreds of hours if you had the skill set to do all the work, If you have to outsource for example painting and other specialized skill/equipment you could be well over the $2k mark. It's not easy finding 40 year old good condition parts

^^^^ "willing to sell for asking price OR BEST OFFER"
I don’t think he is ready to hear the best offer.
And usually when you post an ad, I don’t know, model, cc's, aren't those important?

Not when you buy a motorized vehicle on a whim and have no idea what you actually bought, it isn't!

Edit: I just read the ad. Not so sure about the whim part now based on all the parts that've been put on it, but someone should tell him that he's not going to get the value of the parts plus all the labor to bolt them on back out on the sale end of things.
