Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

Oh, maybe it's just that it seems to be the virtual default go-to car for the rice crowd.

Maybe it's just some stereotyping as well, admittedly.

Don't get your boxers in a twist over it. But, if making fun of what I drive makes you feel better, I've mentioned in another thread I drive a Chevy Aveo. Go crazy. The 300 is my wife's.

Actually i've seen more ricers from the US brand crowd, especially in Ontario : ie Cavalier, Sunfire.... Most imports in GTA are JDM tuned by rich Chinese kids (aka Markham) Their set of Volks probably cost more than your cars combined. The place to be sure to find some import ricers are Brampton. Altho.... they ( i mean those brownies) rice everything they drive....

Your stereotyping would have worked better if we're in South states,.... you know where Mexicans live.

EDIT: Statistically speaking, Civic has been #1 selling car in NA. So take that in mind.

You talk of stereotyping.. while your post is laced with it. Its disgusting that you refer to an entire group of people as brownies.. DISGUSTING behavior.. Also Mexicans? We have a growing population of latins from all over the world. Such a racialized view of the world.. I feel sorry for you.. your limited views in life certainly hold you back. I hope I see you sometime this summer. I can put a face to the person that thinks like this. Not afraid to straight up show your racist card. Gotta respect that a little bit.. at least you aren't hiding it like a *****..

Actually it's $3999... possibly more than when it was new. What's that 2 stroke in the background?

They were selling for around $2,000 before the new model came out.
So he's only asking double (for a used bike).

Right, I was imagining the intro price, when they still came bundled with riding gear

Currently in the hunt for a Ninja 250 or Honda 250 for the GF, I can say I've had the urge to put almost every ad I see on Kijiji in this thread. People asking $3000 or more for damaged bikes (not by them of course). At the motorcycle show a few weeks ago I saw a 2015 Honda 250 base model (full fairing, no ABS) for $3000 brand new. I understand there are taxes on that but still $3400 for a brand new bike with warrenty. I am almost hard pressed to find a used damaged one for less. Are all 250 owners thinking they have a gem or that some other idiot will buy it?

Likely all overpriced scraps left over from last fall, people who have been trying to sell their bike since the warm months and can't figure out why they aren't moving. Anything that was reasonably priced was either sold, or the listings were taken down by sellers that know they will get a better price in the spring…

So I'm going to guess that listings are going to pick up in the next six or eight weeks with more reasonably priced options.

I bought in the fall from someone who was priced accordingly and didn't want to get stuck with the bike for the winter. I see lots of other adds for very similar bikes but still asking 50-100% more than what I paid, so it's not surprising it seems Kijiji would be stacked with overpriced junk this time of year.

I find that alot of newer riders price it according to what they need to buy the next bike. Not by actual market value.

Or according to what they paid (ie. MSRP+PDI+Tax+interest+gear. . .). Sorry, unless you are buying something magically special, the value of a motor vehicle evaporates when you leave the dealership.

I would be entertained if kjiji (or other online site) made something to help people price vehicles. You enter make/model/year km, gear included etc, and it helps you with the math. Gear is worth 0, the website has a decent estimate of the price new and then it subtracts from that to calculate a reasonable used price. People would be ****** with the results and just put their own crazy number in anyway though, so even if it is accurate, few would use it.

Trader.ca used to have something like that... you could put in a make and model and it would return a graph indicating the price distribution of what is for sale. I can't seem to find it now though.

That's what I was about to say...but weird, it does indeed appear to be gone.

I wonder if, as GreyGhost mentioned above, it was actually pissing people off when that tool showed actual valuation vs their pipe dream were somewhat apart and they just wouldn't list as a result. Now they just act stupid and let people list no matter what.

Kijiji has really killed Trader I'm sure, I remember when it used to be cost money to list in their magazine, and then the magazine cost quite a bit to actually buy. Now it's all free. Do they even print the monthly magazine anymore, or is it all just online?
