Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

This is what the ad says, yep I'm confused as well.

Have for sale a set of tire that I had purchased as new motorcycle tires from a bike shop by. Bought these tires as new but have found the date stamp of 4808 or December 2008, I thought new meant less then 6 months old by production status. So this emphasis that the date of production was about 4 years ago and you should be able to get another year out of the tire before cracking from age starts. I was given a quote of $331.35 all included, but it come out to just shy of $400 all included. At the time I purchased these tires I was looking at a place in Toronto had 4 year old tires advertised for $40 front and $50 back wrapped and dry stored. Installation $40 if I brought in the rims which is less then an hour’s work to remove and mount; or less then $150. I will let them go for $800 firm on a vintage tire basis. And for those that have picked up on the pin missing on the front axle, I noticed it when I got home due to the lack of time to check things out when leaving because of store closing hours; you don’t have to email me about that, thanks.

I think it's supposed to be sarcastic.

So just out of curiosity...a lot of people here are ripping up people for putting up expensive prices for their bikes...but when it's time to sell YOUR bike you'd put in a very low price in comparison because it's a fair price? I'm sure most would compare and try to get top dollar for THEIR own bike so they could either recoup their cost, or buy something nice.

Same as real estate nowadays! Everyone's bitching about the price of homes on the market, but when it's time to sell each one of us would want top dollar also. My opinion...you feel it's too expensive don't buy it.

Not a troll post.

i agree 100% , you want the most money you can get for your used product but you have to inform yourself about your product so you arent asking more money then what they are going for brand new.

exactly!

problem is that people are asking double what their bikes are worth and then get offended when someone actually makes a realistic offer! :lmao:

yup, how are you gonna ask $5000 for a used 250r when u can buy brand new for $4000

Thats just someone being stupid! I think most expect to be low balled heavily so they start high. When I sold my bike I checked online and basically priced 100-200 below the average. Boom sold in a few days. Of course 80% of the emails were for 25-50% of the value I posted.
