Streetsville Sunday Rides

Well, I've booked my hotel room for the Sport Bike Rally weekend in Parry Sound. Usually my friends and I stay at Georgian Inn ($119/night)....but I booked next door at Trappers Inn for $79/night. I'll be there Friday July 8 and Sat July 9. :)

I have been going to the SBR in Parry Sound for at least 4 years. It's my favourite annual event that I attend. There isn't much in the way of vendors or gimmicks, it is about being around so many other bikers and having great roads to ride.

Usually people show up on Friday or Sat. It's about 3 hours if you don't stop....but I always take the twisty way up and it takes me about 6 hours to get there. :) There is usually about 2000 sport bikes for the Thunder Run on Sat evening at 6pm. It is lead by police through town and it is like a parade. All the people in Parry Sound come out to watch the parade. The seniors from the old age home are sitting in their wheelchairs, kids waving at us, lots of bike honking and waving. Kinda cool. There is a poker run that makes you take all the good roads in the area. There is also a radar run at the airport with a cop half way down the runway that radars you and gives you a fake ticket. Last year my ticket read 248 km/hr. It's $5 a run down the runway. There is a band and stuff on Sat night, but I have always just partied with by buds at Georgian Inn.

It's not worth riding up for a day trip. You have to make it a weekend. I like to go up on Thursday or Friday because I want to wake up in the middle of all the best roads in Ontario and have a whole day to ride them.

It's a good time.

Tomorrow looks good for a ride.

I rang the Trappers Inn and they still have accommodation left for the sport bike rally.
Although I'm sure we can find somewhere further away from zooropa_chris and (what i presume to be) his crazy friends if necessary ;o)

Lots of hotels in the area...but they are all FULL that weekend. Trappers is one of the cheapest....but I'm not going for the luxury accomodations.

Last year 'Geller' brought up a bunch of riders that have never been before, and my usual SBR friends were there. Sat we went for a ride and had over 20 bikes. Some of the bikes were riding 2 up, and we had two sets of parents that also ride that came up for the SBR with their kids who ride.

Hummm?! Wondering if I have High Heels around? Careful, I may show up :p
if you do, take pictures and send me them. I'm stuck in Peterborough all alone Easter weekend without a bike :( I got to have some thing to keep me entertained
