Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to send out a blast to anyone who stores their bikes in underground parking lots.

There's yet another ring (or maybe several) stealing bikes from underground parking lots. This ring seems to be running between Markham and Brampton / Mississauga. They are following another car into the underground parking garage and driving around looking for something they like. Video shows a WHITE ASTRO van ... license plates came back stolen. More than likely, the van is stolen too.

Just letting everyone know, if you've got your bike in an underground parking garage, head out today and pick up a few extra chains and locks.... maybe get a bike cover too so they can't see what you've got ...

I realize locks only keep the honest people anyway, but you have to try something right ... although my first option would be to kill a thief rather than arresting them, since they only seem to spend about a week in jail anyway. Maybe killing a few would send a message to the rest .... who knows.

are ss and harley's still the only ones being targeted? I've yet to hear of somebody reporting standards / dual sports / sumos
 
mine was SS ... no idea whats been targeted..... If I get my hands on the throat of a bike thief, I'll be sure to ask.
 
Nothing of any good is being done in white vans.

how do these guys keep running around with stolen vehicles or stolen plates and not get picked up by the cops? What is this the sons of anarchy!?

Make sure all the lights work and obey all the traffic laws. When was the last time you were pulled over in your car for a random paper check?

But thats different from having a stolen plate registered in the system and a mismatch plate/car. If it was a stolen car non stolen plates and corresponding plates, then i dont see why they would get pull over

Man, remember when you only had to be annoyed at the white van in parkinglots cuz they were going to sell you speakers?

I work with a guy that actually bought them. In a bank parking lot. Lol

This isn't exactly news. Happens in the gta on a regular basis.

I meant to say that with stolen plates, thats been registered in the police system, the cops will most likely stop you because they run plates as they go. So if they run the plate and it comes positive/it doesnt match the vehicle its attached to, they'll stop you. However, if they run the plate and comes out negative and it marches the behicle it's attached to, they will most likely not stop you. That being said, even if a stolen car is following the rules, it doesnt becessarily mean thwy wont get stopped. Right plate with the right car and a valid sticker will usually not get stopped unless convicted under hta/caia

You think the police check every vehicle for plates and car matching? only if they stop you, or suspect something.

Plus, they don't drive around for weeks commiting crimes in the same hot vehicle. They steal it, use it for a night/day and ditch it ideally before it's even been reported stolen.

I dont think they only run your plates if they stop you. I have been stopped a few times with a "temp" sticker when driving a car to a shop for safety and driving my uncles van. Most 3 of 7 cops were stopped on the side of the road. 4 were cops moving with traffic.

It has happened to me and people i know whove driven with temp plates. I suppose im just unlucky

i always asked the cop what the reason was for the check. One of the cops said that the van is registered to an older individual that did not match the driver
