Stay at Home Order - Spring Edition

Four months has never been tried. "DOESN'T MEAN IT WON'T WORK" doesn't cut it in science.
You make your hypothesis. Test it. Draw the conclusions. Then apply it in the real world.
Mixing up the order bypasses the science. Eventually, we should know if four months is good for old people, unless it's really, really bad for them.

The weird part is that up until a certain point in time, everyone, young and old were getting the shots at the recommended times.

And the blubbering man-child is hedging his bet (the stakes: YOUR well being - he's been fully vaccinated) so he can call an election and use "everyone got the vaccine" as a smoke and mirrors deflection in his campaign. If it doesn't pan out and the effectiveness of the delayed shots is compromised, he'll throw someone under the bus (probably a female deputy minister) claiming he was misinformed.

Oh, and I checked my timetable. My second shot is 17 weeks and 3 days after my first shot, not the 14 weeks that the talking heads have trotted out.

Debate debate debate about whether you should be delayed in how long you wait for your 2nd dose.

Sorry but from my perspective of someone that hasn't got their 1st shot yet....unless you are 65+ and therefore at highest risk....screw you and your lack of a 2nd dose.

Your health wont be in danger because you get your 2nd dose later.....just your health risk rises possibly since your protection level is unknown since protection may decline over time.

Boo hoo. Tell that to the millions with no level of protection.

I would gladly delay my 1st dose to ensure 65+ get both doses.

But delay my 1st dose for someone close to my own age and risk to get their 2nd dose first because you think your level of protection will decline too much?

I guess the upside to JT buying so many doses per person is we can do a second lap with proper timing if that turns out to be an issue. We've paid for it anyway, might as well put it in arms.

If you get three shots do you level up?
I'm sure some people have. I am also reasonably confident some will mix and match and get a couple AZ shots from the pharmacy and Pfizer/Moderna from the clinics.

I'd be willing to bet I have nephews older than you. Go sit in the corner and let us old guys continue their conversation.

Unfortunately, it appears to be all or nothing. Everyone I know, even 80+, has been rescheduled. There should be an option in the booking reservation system to give up your shot to someone older, either by name or to a waiting list that all 65+ with only a first dose should be automatically enrolled in.

It has to be that way. Otherwise, every person who is greedy for getting their second shot on time, is taking away the first shot for someone that we really need to get protection to.

I agree 100% with bakaboy on this.

It's not a perfect world. We have to deal with it.

Trump was in power at the time. It would have been anticipated that the USA would hoard all internal production for themselves ... and they have.

The EU respects agreements. And they have been doing so.

If Canada had sourced all vaccine from the USA, we would have had exactly zero vaccinations thus far.
I have no issue with any country hoarding for their citizens, I would home Trudeau would have done the same if we made any here. The government should look after their people first and then help the rest.

I really think they need to focus on the hot spot areas, trying to lock down the whole province when not everyone is doing bad is crazy. Control the hot zones and let the rest get on with their lives.

For whatever reason, geo-restriction has been a black topic that they won't even discuss. If they lock down just the hot zones without a geo-restriction, past performance has showing the prick ants just scatter to nearby municipalities to continue on with their entitled being. If geo-restriction is off the table, it really is all or nothing for a semi-successful lockdown.

Brought this up before too!

The last lockdown, I saw lots of GTA plates at St. Jacobs, Elora, etc

Bet this will happen again

GTA plates => cars with dealership plate covers nearby Toronto

One could say it's a different way of getting groceries. But seriously, I can't find any list of approved outdoor activities.

Boats will be going in soon if not already. Or will they close the ramps to stop fishing?

For those looking forward to a restricted summer and think a small cruiser is the way to get out of the four walls, are docks available? If available what are chances they might get shut down?

South simcoe police were launching recently and telling people to be safe on the water. I don't expect them to close marinas/ramps again. This "stay at home" order is not that. It is much closer to a "do not congregate inside" order.

Canada had the opportunity to partner with several vaccine producers open production facilities in Canada, this would have produced a secured domestic and supply.

Remember JT, turned that down , he felt his SinoChinese partnership was a better course for Canada. How did that work out?

Also remember the US has supplied 1.5m doses to Canada, or about 20% of the current dose count. Not a single one was contracted by Trudeau.
