State Farm Playing A Game, Please Chime In I Need EDUCATED Answers.

PS. on "fastar1's" comment, R's rate wont increase (I was told by the agent anyhow) and M called the same day for a quote (as he just turned 25 as well and hi bike was only f&f or something for the last year) so both rates mentioned in the first post are accurately quoted as if they are receiving a new policy on the same day as me.

Cr@p, and here I though reading comprehension was everyone *else's* problem LOL! Oh well, thanks for explaining.

Thank god ifly55 gets it.... Its amazing how many times I say this and no one seams to get it.

I live in an apartment building. There is no other M licensed drivers in my home, How ever even if there was this was taken into account when the quotes were done. Like I said, the quotes were done by a broker who is insuring M and R so when I questioned her on this she looked up there files, took there name only out, plugged mine in, and the quote came out higher.

Never mind, Im beating a dead horse as clearly no one has a ****ing answer and yet again Ive been able to prove that our insurance organizations are ****ing theifs.

so its not in a private garage... higher risk, higher rate.

You know whats absolutely phenomenal. Even after bitching about the fact that no one reads, I get two posts in a row where the people didnt read.

I have my OWN LOCKED GARAGE ONE SINGLE GARAGE DEDICATED TO MY UNIT. so no, Thats not the issue and even if that wasnt the case. ALL THE QUOTES PARTICULARS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME. the only difference between the quotes is the name at the top and the licence numbers.

and roomie, again, look at the orignal post. IM NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PRICE OF MY INSURANCE. SF is the cheapest ive found, and although I feel as tho im being ripped off because the premium is too expensive for 4 months of riding ability IT IS ALSO THE BEST QUOTE AND IS AFFORDABLE FOR ME. I am only raising issue with the obvious lack of sense the insurance company's quoting Techniques make.

Just found this on the fsco website. this is ontario and we dont stand up for our selves here, so this wont matter to anyone but Ill post it anyways for the people in here who actually care if they are getting ****ed by insurance...

What Insurance Companies Can't Use to Determine Rates

Your insurance company cannot use the following rating criteria to determine how much you should pay for automobile insurance:

  • credit history;
  • bankruptcy;
  • employment status;
  • whether you own a credit card;
  • how long you have lived in your current home;
  • accidents where you are less than 25 per cent at-fault where the accident occurred on or after September 1, 2010;
  • not-at-fault accidents;
  • whether your vehicle is owned or leased; and
  • whether there was a period of time where you had no automobile insurance coverage.

Spread this. I'm constantly posting direct links to insurance guidelines, it's a huge misconception.

Do note though, that refers to lapses where you cancelled your insurance, not when it was cancelled due to non-payment or conviction.

Yes I agree That should be noted. How ever the explination that statefarm tried to give me for this issue im having (One of the agents anyhow) was my credit rating. Since This is illegal im going to call that agent back and discuss it. Also most people are just to dosile and take what is given to them, Insurance companys espically. People dont research this stuff, but how many of you people have been asked one if not all of thease questions and told it effects your rate.... Im paying more on my truck because I didnt have insurance all summer. I WILL be making a case of this with my insurance company pronto.

I admire your tenacity. Wonder if you could get one of those consumer protection journalists to take on the story.

See I would adore that, but the sad and honest truth of all of this is. No one cares. Bikers are widely see by the rest of the common people as the criminals or the undeserving of help. I would love to file a class action lawsuit against all insurance companys and the FSCO because the bottom line of all of this is that insurance breaches the charter of human rights. They DISCRIMINATE (Im not discussing that choice of word because the bottom line is that its the correct term) against people for theire age, and sex. Both things the canadian charter of human rights prohibits discrimination against, but they have, do, and will continue to get away with it by calling it calculated risk factors. If I owned a company that sold rice in bulk, and I had three customers one jewish, one anglo caucason and afro american and I gave the jewish guy a better price than the anglo because he would steriotypicaly pay on time every time, and gave the anglo a better rate than the african american because african americans are more likely to be involved in thefts then I would instantly be brought up on charges and called a racist criminal. That whole scenerio is a little outlandish, and I am in not racist I was just making a (not at all PC but commonly felt) point about disrimination being called calculated risks. Its the same thing that insurance companys do to everyone. your male? costs more. You are 16? costs more. its just a matter of time before they begin looking at the races involved in accidents and claims and using that as part of there calculations. Insurance is not something that we will ever win against. The government makes to many kickbacks on it and to much taxes off of it. Dont bite the hand that feeds. no matter how much press and how much of a fight anyone puts up it will never be concidered in the eyes of the people who can make the change because it would hurt there pockets. and Wynne likes her free vacations way to much to listen to the plight of a common slug taxpayer like me, or you (not that your a slug but Im hoping you see my point.) one thing people always seam to forget, and I never have no matter the accusations or compaints that I make about driving or insurance in this province, is that driving is a PRIVLADGE not a RIGHT. So yes its entirely a PAY TO PLAY menatlity with insurance because its a luxury not a necessity and insofacto no one will ever take on the big companys for this fight. Untill a politicion has to pay there own outrageous insurance. Then MAYBE but I doubt it. they will just up our taxes to pay for it some how.
