Remember, at this point even the events of "Return of the Jedi are considered myth and folklore. Very few people believed in The Force in the time of the original movies and now, with the last known Jedi Knight gone off to some hermit's mountain, it's all just stories.
I know Rob. With the death of Yoda and Vader in VI, there isn't much else.......those films had Ben,
Yoda and Vader interacting with Luke so, the force was something that tied them together.
This film there is a gap in time and the reference to Luke training Kylo and lose him to the dark side and Luke leave and sulk in his failure. Still a whiney *****. lol. Kidding.
The more I think about the whole thing, I kinda think the Empire and constant need to build a Death Star gets a bit old. You would think they would go with a different strategy to rule?????
I think the movie captures some of magic from the original movies and fits right in with the franchise.
Can we really expect it to have any authentic or realism? It's Star Wars!!!
Sometimes I just have to get over myself. Lol.
Btw, my kid thought it was boring and didn't like there was no Darth Vader. Lol. He's 7 and we didn't watch the other movies before going.
My step sons kept asking me about Luke. They didn't go with me because they wanted to go with their dad.
I was thinking those boys are gonna be upset that Luke was only in the final scene........lol. They are 12 and 9. They came back and told me they loved it!
So my Star Wars movie critic career plans are on hold. Gonna have to stick with making the donuts.
