Great for the track.

Great for weighing down canopies as well.

CT is a bag of ****. RedflagDeals forums has a ton of ****** reviews about the return policies of many of the stores. I heard CT is not accepting returns anymore and you will have to deal with the manufacturer directly if you want compensation.

ummm you heard wrong - If this happened to you, I would recommend calling their customer service number, you might be dealing with a store manager or staff that is not following policy or there is a whole lot more to the story

I personally still buy things at CT but you have to be careful because each store is run separately and have their own different return policies.

This thread is about a plastic toolbox.

You are quoting a thread from 2008 about the return policies of previously enjoyed/used in car dvd unit. lol

FWIW, the world does not revolve around the experiences of rfd members.

The truth is out there man.

Thanks for posting! I'll be grabbing one shortly. My Stanley box I use for trade work is fantastic.

Regarding returns, I've never, ever had an issue at CTC, even within the last month. Best to have reciept in hand though to make it easier.

He bought dvd player which also had a fm modulator. The modulator didn’t work he tried to return it and the manager said well does the dvd work? hes like yes. Then manager said your **** out of luck. How I'm stupid. I personally don’t give a **** what people buy or from where. I was just trying to say be careful because if you do have a problem it might be hard to return. that is all.

"Upon getting the item home and hooking it up in the truck, it was noted that there were only three settings on the modulator - Off, 87.9FM and 88.1FM -- hmmm I thought -- 88.1 is a radio station here in Calgary.

Undaunted I set it up and sure enough, neither of the selections worked since the radio station on 88.1 is strong enough to interfere with the transmitter."

Here are my experiences with returning stuff to Canadian Tire.

Last month I returned 2 burnt out sylvania Xtravision bulbs, they were just under the 1 year warranty (I did keep the receipt). I had asked for an exchange but the customer service girl told me to take the refund then buy them again that way the "warranty" starts over.

Returned two screwdrivers that were damaged. Both were easily 10+ years old, one was a flat blade which was used to pry on something so the tip was broken, the other was a torx and the head was messed up because I used it on a hex bolt. I was more interested to see what they would do and was fully okay if they told me to take a hike. To my surprise I was told to go get 2 new ones.

I buy lots of Canadian tire tools for home use as they arent used too often. I find they do the job and when on sale they are a good deal. For work I use good stuff, Wiha, Wera, Knipex, Fluke etc. but thats because they are used daily.

Thanks for taking the time to posting this and give the heads up. I just picked one up. it's a great toolbox and 50% off.

cheers

I'm gonna go get one in a bit - That thing is awesome for the track.

Hopefully I don't have to return it...... I kid I kid ;)

CT is great for returns, esp with tools.

I had an old Mastercraft adjustable wrench that I was once turning a stubborn large nut with. Took a 10ft length of rigid pipe and used it as leverage on the handle of the adjustable wrench. LOL, needless to say, the wrench snapped. I went back to Crappy Tire, and they replaced it with no questions asked.

Im a Wiha user too. Best screwdrivers I've ever used. Add Klein to your list too, good stuff. Fluke is a no brainer. top notch stuff.
