Sorry but this **** has to stop!

This happens so often, and there are literally minimal penalties for it.

Was on the 407 a few weeks ago going toward the 115/35. 3 bikes ripped by as if we were standing still. Saw one of them stopped at the offramp putting his plate back on once he passed the gates.

Won't stop. Never will. I just hope the only people affected are those racing and not innocent bystanders / drivers.

Why would he bother to put his plate back on ?

Is it likely he obeys the speed limit on city streets ?

Heh, probably just "barely" exceeds the speed limit there.

OPP officer in second video, stating that 4400 stunt driving charges laid (this ?) year !

Are any of those charges actually getting paid ?

Are the inpounds "deactivated" by a paid fine ?

Or do those guys just steal another bike ?

I talked to a guy who was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident recently. He was an innocent bystander just waiting to make a left into his driveway when he got hit from behind.

He was in a truck so is fine, but his life is changed forever, as are the lives of all the people who happened upon that ugly scene right in front of their homes.

Conviction rate on stunt driving charges is abysmal. Something like 50%. Whether or not you get convicted you are stuck with the towing fee.

Oh, and I was talking to this gent in front of his house right where the accident happened. You could see gas and blood on the road.

His house was across the apex of a turn, which was a bit blind if you're going at the limit . The limit is a ridiculous 80 km/h for that turn, considering there are houses all around and how blind the turn is. He said bikers will race up and down that road, which doesn't surprise me as it is prime riding country.

Standing on the side of the road, there were LOTS of cars and trucks going well over 80 and crossing the centre line, sometimes by a lot. The guy said that on that road, people treat the centre line as optional.

Be careful out there everyone. There's lots of ways to get hurt.

I know why it's low.

I got a nice speeding ticket a year ago, when I went to court (Newmarket), the accused lined up to discuss their charge with the prosecutor before the court went in session. Without looking up, she said "I'll knock this down to 15 over and $65. If you don't take my offer, I'll ask the judge for 29 over, $200 fine and 3 demerits. Are we good?"

The next 3 in line were Stunters, they all got an offer of 29 over, $200 fine, and 3 demerits with the same "take the offer or take your chances with the judge on the Stunt charge."

One fellow was pretty ****** when the X-Copper guy he paid $1000 stood in line and collected the same deal as all the people that just showed up to defend themselves.

Hopefully that's enough to dissuade them and they'll pass the message onto their friends ... or maybe it won't.

Always fight your tickets and always fight them yourself. If all avenues for full dismissal fail then get a lawyer. The lawyer always wants a deal, that is the way that courts work here. I recently got someone off a serious ticket that the court had booked the entire afternoon for the trial. 2 prosecutors. Because of adjournments and delays the documents had changed hands several times and the current prosecutors did not have the alleged video evidence to which their case was based on. They tried to adjourn once again to obtain the evidence and I advised that we are here and prepared for trial today. Dismissed.

Won't stop. Never will.

It will if there actually is some real world enforcement on our roads, with actual teeth.

This sort of routine **** doesn't happen in lots of other places. It happens in Ontario because drivers have come to the rightful conflusion that there's basically a 0% chance of them ever being penalized in any real fashion for it, and if they do by some slim chance get nailed...well...see below.

As per another comment, prosecutors offering to plea down stunting to a 29 over charge should be ******* stopped immediately and is absolutely rediculous. What little police we actually have out there getting these people charged are probably livid seeing this happen.

recently got someone off a serious ticket

So another personal has been enabled to just continue being a douche on the roads through a technicality or whatever. Oh yay.

Ya but you dont know the whole story and just because you get a ticket or a serious ticket it does not mean you are automatically a douche.

He's remembering why he took an internet break. Lots of infuriating stories out there.

Stupidity and lack of enforcement on our roads has always been, and always will be a huge hot button issue for me, so this is nothing new. But watching it get worse and worse, unchecked, is indeed infuriating.

People think it's all fun and games unti it impacts their lives somehow, someday.

But people in the mental hesitation thread are all claiming it's not worse and it's a figment of people's imagination.

I came across a downed rider before EMS got there. He was being tended to but was mostly twitching and bleeding. Not pleasant.

Not M/C but a lady out jogging got hit and dragged blocks to her death. Her running shoes left skid marks the whole way and took months to fade. The senior driver said she's never had that happen before.

Ditto 427. A two mile diameter circle of people not getting a decent night's sleep.

My next door neighbour can start up his stock piped Harley and I barely notice. The neighbour on the other side drowns the Harley out with his lawn mower. Thank you Briggs and Stratton.
