Some else deserves this parking ticket

Yes exactly it was south of King. Sorry wasn't thinking should have taken pics of the delivery truck.
Good luck if it helps it was around 12:30 when the truck was parked there. If there are camera's this is the time of day to look at.

Thanks a lot, that will make it a way easier to find the guy.

I have a really thick and big chain lock that I used to put on my bicycle (the big kryptonite ones). I now lock my steering and but that big @ss chain and lock through the back tire to prevent this exact same situation. I admit .. I sometimes get lazy and don't put it on .. or if I didn't bring my backpack which the heavy chain goes in ... but for the most part.. I park on Elizabeth Street between College and Gerrard and find that several others park with me ... so moving 3-6 bikes isnt usually on someone's to do list just to get one parking space :)

Hope you get the ticket dropped considering it wasn't you who put it there .. but how does the person writing the ticket know that right? Can't fault someone for doing their job.

Just do you know there's a knockoff xena disc lock you can find on ebay, it's like $10-15. I bought one off a friend who had it and it does the job. The alarm is loud enough and is decently sensitive (if you put the key in to take it off, it'll usually alarm if you're not careful). I think you can adjust the sensitivity. Uses a battery but it hasn't died in 2 years so I'm not sure what kind of batt it takes. did I mention it's like $10?

I know how you feel about someone moving your bike. At my previous house, I didn't have a garage so I kept my bike in my driveway. I came home one afternoon and the bike is in a completely different spot. I asked one neighbour about it and he said he saw my other neighbour moving it. Turns out, idiot neighbour was getting a delivery and decided it was easier to have the truck back into my driveway to unload (completely separate driveways too, grass in between and everything). All he had to do was move my bike. Saved him from having to move his car. I lost it on him and never spoke to him again. Some things just really piss you off.

People just assume a motorcycle is just a cheap bicycle. They just don't think. The worst is when they dump their kids on it to take a pic.

Or my buddy's 355 challenge edition. They had the kids sitting on the fiberglass engine cover with the other two kids leaning on the sides. She also decided to flip him off and have a total mental freak out in the middle of the street when he asked her wtf she thought she was doing.

I hope you find the $hi7 stain that touched your bike for his own convenience

raydowe Did you end up getting the video?

No luck with the first place. It was the residential part of the building and they don't have cameras covering where it happened. There is a business at street level that might have an angle. The receptionist seemed scared of me and just gave me a card for the manager (lol) so I'm going to try and get in touch with him tomorrow. Honestly at this point I'm confident printing out this thread would he enough to get the ticket dropped, but I'm going to try and get a copy of any video that exists.

Caught a break today!

Got in touch with the manager of the business at street level and he's a rider too. Was happy to help, had a look at the video and sent me what he could find.

I'm at the very edge of the field of view, but it was caught on camera. I've highlighted what is visible and it seems pretty clear to me that there are 2 guys rolling my bike backward and onto the sidewalk. That combined with the photo of where I found it, should be enough to convince anyone of what happened.

dude, thats awesome. Interesting to see just how crappy thos cameras are, lol

Ha, the Guy actually recorded the screen with his phone because that's the easiest way to get the video in a playable format. Works for me.

Is that it?

Any complaints about false alarms? What battery does it take?

Sometimes I just wanna punch people like that

Sent from my tablet using my paws

This is why I bought an alarm. Someone touches my bike like that and I'd snap. Awesome news that you got video. Hope in the end it works out in your favor. Too bad you couldn't use it to find out who the mover was and clean his clock. /rant :D

+1 to this

If I could do it again, I'd buy the Scorpio GPS one. The SR-i900 works but has really bad range. Maybe I just ended up with a defective unit?

Yeah, I'm looking at alarms and disc locks today so hopefully this kind of thing doesn't happen again. Wont stop idiots from touching my bike, but at least ill get some informed when they do.
