Nice! Hope that mug has a warmer in...
Had to skip out for weekend crap, but have been getting alerts on the Score app. How is the run of play? Boro at least playing well? Any hope of a comeback?Well, the Blue Scum are winning 2-0. Guess it was to be expected. Surprised the commentators mentioned A-hole-a-vich. I’d have thought that would be in poor taste. Does Chelski always have a yellow strip on their kit or is that a special touch for Ukraine? Seems ironic.

Yellow stripe was there at the start of the year, not a political statement. Wouldn't expect that sort of thing from that club with so many awful supporters...
Just saw the final score, sadly. Two massive upsets was enough for one year, I suppose. Was always going to be a very long shot, especially against a cup specialist like Tuchel. Still, at 2-0, there's a lot of pride to be had there. Hopefully they make it up, as I think Wilder could make for a fun season or two in the Premier League. We started brightly and their first goal came on the counter attack.
Stats say 60% possession for Chelsea. Seems closer to 50/50 but close enough.
Their second goal was saveable. Keeper will get some stick for it.

Lots to enjoy, and hopefully they use it to kick on...
I'll be honest, I'm torn about the Liverpool-Forest game tomorrow. On the one hand, if Liverpool win the FA Cup, then it'll temper any disappointment if they falter in either the league or Europe. On the other, I'd really like one of those two big prizes a heck of a lot more, and I think more FA Cup games won't help with how tight everything is now. The quadruple is a pipe dream, and chasing it may mean they get nothing more...
In other words, if they're going to lose in the cup, I'd much rather it was to a club like Forest than one of the PL rivals...
I saw that. A few leaders in their supporters groups laid flowers at the memorial at Anfield, too. Lots of history between the two clubs, with Forest being real contenders once upon a time. Considering the Leicester and Chelsea supporters attempts at 'banter' (Sign On, You'll Never Have a Job, 97 was not enough, etc and so on), the smaller clubs show a lot of class. I suppose in some ways it takes a certain amount of character to support a non-“Big 6" club, as your options for glory are a lot fewer and farther apart. The Chelseas and Man Citys (and, increasingly, Liverpool, sadly) have a lot of glory hunting plastics in their ranks, who I think are more likely to take things too far. At least the club at Liverpool now speak out when the supporters do something in poor taste. There was a big push to stop the 'rent boy' songs against Chelsea as homophobic, for example. I don't see any move from Chelsea to castigate their fans from singing some of the most vile racist and classist garbage you can imagine.I’m proud of the team and even more so the home supporters who were in fine voice throughout the entire match.
Forest have set aside a special section of 97 seats in honour of those who died at Hillsborough. Class. So much class in the Championship.

Too much to watch today! Had to catch up on the GP, then watched the first half of the derby della capitale, now watching Liverpool-Forest.
Roma smashing Lazio in the first half (if you can find a highlight of the third goal by Pellegrini, do so!) made the switch over easier. So far, Forest came to play! Crowd is great, too, both home and travelers. Winner gets City, while Chelsea plays Palace. Klopp has mixed a few kids into today's lineup, but it's still a strong one.
As for Everton, I don't think they wanted anything to do with today's game. They need every ounce of energy to stay up. The Newcastle win was crucial, but may not be enough...
That freekick was inch perfect, like something out of a video game. Tammy Abraham is slowly becoming a Roma legend. When was the last time an English player did so well in Italy? David Platt? Paul Ince?Roma smashing Lazio in the first half (if you can find a highlight of the third goal by Pellegrini, do so!) made the switch over easier.

CONCACAF gotta CONCACAF. Every time I get a bit wound up about gems like Paul Tierney in the EPL, I watch five minutes of a qualifier and am immediately grateful I don't have to put up with that nonsense every week...Huge game vs Costa Rica gents! Hostile environment - Honduran ref, Mexican VAR ref. Fingers crossed!
Edit: Kaye off as he “bumped” into a Costa Rican player who fell in a heap. There is no place for this gamesmanship. Have some dignity.
At first I thought the ref was yellow carding the CR player for diving. Ugh.

As my European team is Italy, this Canadian squad now holds all my WC hopes. What a catastrophe against North Macedonia. Too many draws killed them, a product of an inability to score at times. In three and a half years, they've lost twice, once to Spain, once today. Not the way Chiellini and Bonucci will have wanted to go out...
