SIU investigation

I went by at around 2 - Bike was no longer on the ground.
That is a residential area big time, Cops had no business chasing someone in there (yes I know the rider had no business running, bla bla)

2 lanes each way and an open field on the left, can see how a rider can get a sense of having a road to try and escape but it is full residential and not the best drivers in the area that's for sure

Who said anything about a chase? Maybe the rider ran a speed trap. I have except I didn't run into an SUV.

"The SIU said York police were attempting to stop the motorcyclist when the driver and an SUV collided at the intersection."

Let's see the scenario as per your suggestion:
Motorcycle is going over speed limit, a radar trap is set, the cop goes on the road to try and stop the rider and he crashes against an SUV????

Or police tries to stop a motorcycle, because the rider was speeding, motorcycle takes off and tries to evade the cops, they chase and motorcycle due to increased speed crashed against an SUV!

Which one you think it makes more sense?

Nest time they should just shoot the biker to prevent anyone else for getting inured or killed.
It's cheaper that way. They can send the family or sell the parts of the bike to collect on the ticket and pay for the bullet.

tough crowd

You have males between the ages of 16-25 on high power bikes and testosterone that will be punished severely on the spot.
When you have left them with essentially no option then they will flea.
When mistakes happen and people hear about it and yes it can easily happen to them, ask yourself, are they likely to take a chance or avoid it?

Drunk drivers seem to get off easier.
Hell robbers and rapists seem to get their day in court first too.

Totally agree about the street racing law. At best it makes little sense and at worst it can be the catalyst for a bad decision. There's no excuse for your actions but there's every reason to get rid of it.

Holy...****, are we actually all agreeing on something?

I'm gonna spend some time to type up a letter today to the Town of Markham. This made me rage a lot and for some reason, not at the rider.

I take Major Mac alot and the speed limit there was recently lowered from 80 to 70. The entire stretch until past 404 had most people doing 100. These retarded speed reductions, coupled by the stunting law have resulted in stupid **** like this in happening. The rider shouldn't have died and probably wouldn't have if our laws weren't so ****ing stupid as to encourage running.

Seriously, guys/gals there are better places to open up the bike than Major Mac and Mccowen, slow the F down....if you want speed go to some more out of the way spots....

Sorry to hear about this as i don't need the detail but if the Speed limit is 70 and evenone is complaining about the stunting law than it would be applicable at 120+..... come on....

Have you been up there? It's a damn open flat straight line with houses on the right and farm lands on the left. This guy probably rammed into a SUV trying to run a red. Also I believe there have been instances where the "stunting/racing" law has been applied to ppl going under 50 -_- stupid law is stupid regardless

Very sad event. May his soul rest in peace. We need to get the "stunt" law repealed. So many more motorcyclists would stop if they weren't facing thousands of dollars in impound and legal fees.

Dude i hate the law as much as you, but the posted limit is what it is, i know sometimes it doesn't seems fair that limit is 70 but most poeple respect it more when there in a cage and not on 2, myself included, i'm just saying there are better places to grab a handful of throttle.

Actually the rider probably wouldn't have died if he didnt ride into another vehicle.

Whatever happened to taking responsibility for your own actions...

FYI, people were running from cops waaaaaay before the stunting law, check out the fines for dangerous or careless, not much better.

Except the penalties under the stunt driving law are instant and incontestable.
