Really? Afaik, in Ontario there is next to no AZ and limited Pfizer. Tons of Moderna though.Anyway, looks like there is not shortage of any vaccine atm.

AZ is "retired" now, so it doesn't count. And looks like there was a shipment of Pfizer for this week - I'm getting it tomorrow.Really? Afaik, in Ontario there is next to no AZ and limited Pfizer. Tons of Moderna though.
How does it not count if you got AZ as shot one and don't want to mix? Again, washing over government falling flat on its face. There should be sufficient supply for every person to follow manufacturers protocol if they want.AZ is "retired" now, so it doesn't count. Yeah, bad luck, sorry, mate. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯How does it not count if you got AZ as shot one and don't want to mix? Again, washing over government falling flat on its face. There should be sufficient supply for every person to follow manufacturers protocol if they want.
You can always say no. I had an appointment last Sunday, but they had only Moderna, so I walked away.A very optimistic headline on a news article today. "Health Canada says at least 1.3 million Canadians opted for a mixed-dose finish to their COVID-19 vaccination schedule in June." Did they opt for mixed-dose or did they accept the only thing available to them?

If you are trying to match Pfizer or Moderna, you are probably correct. How much longer do you need to wait before you get a matched shot though? Is it better to get a matched shot at 30 weeks or a mixed-dose at 16 weeks? Neither of those scenarios has been studied. You can always say no. Getting (hopefully) Pfizer tomorrow at my local pharmacy. So it's 3 days later. If you are trying to match Pfizer or Moderna, you are probably correct. Vaccine in the country does not necessarily mean you can get an appointment nor figure out which site will have your vaccine of choice (reasonably easy to clean up in the provincial booking system but they obviously don't want to).Getting (hopefully) Pfizer tomorrow at my local pharmacy. Pfizer shipment was delayed for 2 weeks, so the wait was never going to be longer than that.
I think they are now intentionally hiding what vaccine they have - they are just saying "mRNA vaccine" to avoid vaccine shopping. But I think as the result they are waisting the appointments, as people come to the location, see the other brand, and leave.Vaccine in the country does not necessarily mean you can get an appointment nor figure out which site will have your vaccine of choice (reasonably easy to clean up in the provincial booking system but they obviously don't want to).
Correct solution is to do the antibodies tests for everyone, but yeah, let's do 3 shots. What about a bonus dose? A pharmacy gave out 200 shots unfortunately six were saline
They dont know who got saline so they all get shots again. That means 194 people will have had three doses. Why even bother with science, just hand them out like lollipops. Smh.
I was supposed to get my second dose of Pfizer on June 25, but opted to reschedule when they notified me that I'd be getting Moderna due to the shortage. Last week they were giving out Pfizer before 9.30 am, then switching to Moderna. She can try to come earlier - they don't care when is your appointment, they only care if it's the same day.Wife has her second shot on Friday at the Paramount (?) centre. First one was Pfizer...hoping the second one is also...but will take Moderna if that's what they offer her.
Up this way they won't even let you in the building if you arrive more than 15 minutes before your appointment time. Both times we went it worked great. Arrive about 10 minutes before your appointment and pretty much walk right in and proceed through the steps.Last week they were giving out Pfizer before 9.30 am, then switching to Moderna. They let me in 3 hrs before the appointment, and it was 6 hours before my wife’s appointment.Up this way they won't even let you in the building if you arrive more than 15 minutes before your appointment time.
So my wife, my daughter and I had the appointments at Paramount past Sunday - mine was at 12, daughters at 1 and wife's at 3. "The insider" tipped me that they do Pfizer in the morning until it runs out, so it's better to be there before 10 if I want to get Pfizer. So we were there at 9.15, and they let us all in without any questions and issues, but by the time we arrived at the vaccination point, the nurse literally had 1 Pfizer shot left. When they run out, nurses don't know what kind of the vaccine they will get for the next batch. Unfortunately, she got Moderna, so only one of us got the shot that day.
The bonus of arriving early - I was able to cancel our unused appointments, so hopefully someone else was able to get them that day.
