Shopping list for 2013 track season

But it's just a rear rotor for heaven's sake... anyway, I'll probably just get a stock used cheapo rotor.. this whole thing is very low on my priority list anyway.

Don't f*ck around with brakes... even if it is "just the rear"

I'm all for support, but for something I don't use at all, 120 + tax vs 39.19 no tax is 80 difference, maybe one day i'll be able to give such support when my pockets are deeper. That said, these chinese rotors are probably much heavier.. I just wonder if it's gonna be a total blow if i get one of these or they're somewhat acceptable for the undemanding case..

Bf just bought a china rotor exact same as Mikeys and they both weigh the same.

Yes (Shark helmets have that rating, I've used it for trackdays/racing). You can't go wrong with the major/known brands. Just don't buy any helmets from Crappy Tire that you don't recognize :p

In addition to the DOT/SNELL/ECE stamp, it doesn't hurt to look at the helmets manufacture date (behind the inner lining).

You may have bought a 2010 approved helmet (these ratings are done every 5 years) that's actually 2-3 years old, or one that just came out of factory. Last December I picked up a Suomy helmet that was only a month old. Like anything, stuff that sits there wears down. Even Kevlar bullet proof vests have an expiration date. Not that 1-2 years is bad, but I'll piss employees off and box-shop until I find the 'newest' one :p

just got a 10x5 trailer for 250 bucks and I have to paint his front bumper on his car !

The "list" is never done.... unfortunately

Anyone use this one or the generic copy? How does it "adjust automatically for a wide range of tire sizes"? Looks to me like it's too wide for a sportbike tire? I've been using the Parts Canada chock, but need another one. Always looking for something better.

96$ vs 300$+ is a no brainer.
This chock works well and is stable (heavy) at ~45lbs and with the rubber/plastic inserts it sticks to the ground pretty good.
The link I posted is from the manufacturer that supplies princess auto with the blue chocks that a lot of people seem to like.

The top part is also adjustable to accommodate larger and smaller tires.
You can't go wrong IMO.

Thanks Mr. Azim, Now I see that the side plates pivot on bolts that I couldn't see. I was wondering how that worked. This is what I've been using so far, and it captures the tire really well in the V shape, and goes over center nicely so that it takes some effort to get the bike out. http://www.riversideyamaha-suzuki.com/BVP-BVP-WHEEL-CHOCK-detail.htm?productId=10096483 It's priced in between the others, so I think I'll try out your version, save a few bucks and maybe it will even work better - I see it also has a latch to secure the bike.

Bought this one from Dave today for my race bike

Oh and this, now I don't have to borrow one at the track anymore. Some practice and the tech guys wont have to tell me my safety wire job sucked

Ive got the blue princess auto chock and the locking wheel chock from Royal in my trailer. Both are great ..

You could also look at the Kapscomoto as they have one as well thats fairly inexpensive.
