Shopping list for 2013 track season

So I see most of you have added giant ****s to your shopping list. I guess we will have to wait til spring to see who has the biggest one.

Do you have a video of the curry?

Will it help my top speed?

Don't have the video to hand but spoonfuls 2, 3,5, 9a, 9b, 14, 18, 22 & 25 can be eaten quickly. You really need to carry a lot of fork speed in mouthfuls 1, 2, 3 and 4. But you need to slow down for spoonful 30, 31 & 32. I would have gone faster that day but I had a tight belt and took that as my cue to stop eating.

Will it help your top speed? It could do. If you could reach around and ignite the exhaust gases then it's worth an extra 30kph on the back straight. It could also help insulate your suit on a cold morning.

I'm not sure what this says about your previous boyfriends love, but normal blokes have two of them.

Holy crap! Those upgrades are worth far more than your bike! It's going to be sweet.

just need to learn how to ride it again ......its going to be totally different bike now
going to have to go all the way into slow group for the morning to set up all the suspension, find the right placement on the new rearsets, blah blah i was running a 1:21-1:23 at tmp with my bike 100 %oem , so hopefully i can shave down a few seconds
I had alot of suspension problems late in the season, some wheel hop, and the bike just wanted to turn wide, the forks and shock were due for a rebuild, so Ohlins I went. the bike also had a really crappy oem dampner, the last trackday of the year I hade a really nasty slapper on the straight at tmp.
it would have been easier to buy one done for alot less cash, but hey its fun to build ****! :)

The tankslapper could be a result of a worn out shock. FYI. Turning wide is another indication of it (or a bad spring for your weight, or a few other things... like a tight chain).

I did the same thing, built up my SV from street to track. Never again. It's hardly worth selling because of what I put into it :( It's fun though. My goal at TMP next year (if I even go there) is to get under 1:20, which would be fairly quick on an SV650. I did a 1:22.6 this year but my suspension wasn't right either. It's all fixed up now (as of the last track day at SMP this year) so I should get better feel at TMP. I've never had good feel at that track, never felt like I can push like I push at SMP.

My original plan was to make it a dual duty bike (like I did with my old track bike) but that didn't last long... just like last time. haha...

i know for a fact the rear shock was done, the bike would squat and wheelie in any gear, and it was on the hardest setting and would still bounce like crazy, the new ohlins is night and day , rode it up and down the highway few times, i can actually plant the power down withought the bike flying up LOL
I thought about the chain that day too, loosened it , still wasnt better.

Whoa.

So, did you ever get the courage to add up all the invoices, or is it better just not to know?

I'm with you on building rather than buying. It's half the fun. Fun costs money. So what?

mike bike is doing dual duty .... I hope I'm not heading down the same road .....

It's only money. You can only spend it once so make it count. haha

Mina, I see you're selling tons of stuff....... do yourself a favour and keep one of those gas tanks and the stock shock, provided they fit on your current track bike. They are cheap in-case-sh*t-happens or you-never-know.

My Elka blew out on Thursday last September and sold my stock shock the week before. You never know.
