Seeing RED - Insurance blues or SCAM

Just recieved my insurance renewal. Hard to believe

They INCREASED it $200.00 over last years to $900.00 for the year.

This is for $1,000,000.00 public liability ONLY .(No collision. No personal Injury. No loss). How in the world can they justify such legalized highway ROBBERY.

And this is through RIDERS PLUS who are supposed to be motorcycle friendly.

I am convinced that there is a secret agenda by the Government of Canada and the Insurance Companey's to rid the world of Motorcycles.

Am I ticked off .....you bet I am.

I think its long past due that All Motorcyclists launch a MAJOR PROTEST.

I definitely see a lot of red in your post. Read the 'insurance' section on this forum.

Sons of $&/@&es....what bike are you riding that you're getting so screwed?! The amount of money people are getting charged for certain bikes here makes your $900 look like chump change. Shop around and switch insurers...although you fail to mention if you had any tickets or claims in the last year...

Try riding a blacklisted bike, see how you like the price.

Come back when you're paying over $2,000 a season...

Jevco went up big time.

But TD ( Meloche ) dropped - go figure. Try TD online - you might be pleased.

That said - insurance in Ontario is a rip ....period.

Hey saddlebum, I am paying $3200 for the same thing on a 250cc bike with a clean record. I would LOVE to be paying only $900, so STFU.

Americans believe we are a socialist country and blame it on socializam, when we know its good old fashioned free enterprize and corporate rip off, with our Governments blessing.

I must make a correction on the post below, it was a $200 increase over two years. last years rate was $812.00 ....Still way too D----- much though $900 for bare minimum insurance.
I ride a 1989 Venture Royale XVZ1300. I have been riding for 37 years and have a clean record. $900 when riders in the USA get full coverage on newer bikes for as low as $300 a year ---give me break.

And you guy's dont feel your getting shafted ? This is why Canadians get screwed over so much. We just sit back and take it all like good little children.

Its kinda expensive sure. But compared to the states we get allot more coverage. I will say we need certain reforms but I don't feel we are getting completely shafted. I think New and Young drivers don't really get given a fair shake at the stick tho.

But there is no need for the big blue or red text. It just kinda makes us want to ridicule you.

We have more insurance fraud, it gets expensive sending _____'s to physio every minute.

Monnex dropped their prices 3? years ago. I remember calling to get a quote (our cars and home are with them) on my cruiser. $2400 -- with no tickets.

Riders plus charged me $1100. Over 3 years with them, it went down to nine hundred and change.

Monnex cold called me one day and asked if they could give me a quote on the bike. I said, no, I don't like wasting my time. . .you can't touch my rate. But she talked me into giving her 5 minutes, so she did the quote: $600 & change. At that time, she said that Monnex had been avoiding bikes, but now they want the business and adjusted premiums accordingly. Since signing with them, the premium's been pretty consistent. . .don't think I've seen any significant increases. Always had great service with them on the cars. . .4 people have hit our cars in the past 9 years -- Monnex was always easy to deal with.
