which means that for ONCE, a law actually worked lol
I was returning to my sister-in-law's house after a day at Point Lookout State Park when we merged into the 495 highway going to Alexandria when the loudest sport bike I ever heard passed me as if I was at a dead stop, he must had been going 160 km/h but cutting and swerving between cars only inches of clearance from their fenders. The pipes on this guy were so loud they woke-up the kids in our minivans who were sleeping even with the windows closed (it was about 9:00pm). He dissapeared from view in about 7 seconds, just then 2 other supersport bikers passed us, also at about 160 km/h. Then about 15 seconds later a Sheriff patrol car passed us at great speeds chasing them but WITHOUT lights or sirens.
Then I saw the most weird thing. A 4th sports biker was chasing the police car! He was about 30-ft behind him, if the cop car passed vehicles on the left of the highway shoulder the biker would also do it, if the patrol car cutted across lanes to the other shoulder the sport biker will also tailgate him, WTF? Why didn't this dude just slow down and let the cop chase his buddies? Or better yet get off the next exit and go home! Ahahaha!!! I alsot videotaped it with my iphone but everything went down quickly.
P.S. The first biker had a bright purple led light blinking on and off on the corner of his taillight, is this a beacon to show the cop where he's going?![]()
I'm sorry but your logic is flawed. All the fifty over law has done is create a situation where poeple that would have stopped run. I have been stopped for well over 200km/h and the officer says thanks for stopping as long as your paper work is good I'm not giving you a ticket. I have also had an officer say if I didn't stop he would have shot me and thought of a reason later. So I very. Rarely stop I would rather go though a corn field and fix the damage than get 10000 fine impound etc. I have been licenced for 30 years with 0 accidents. Yet I see 299 on my speedo every time out. U must pick your time and place. I'm an ex racer and instuctor and have not had a close call I at least 25 years.
Didn't OpenGambit post a reference once where police are allowed to shoot to kill if you run from them?
16 the median pre-crash speed was 29.8 mph, and the median crash speed was 21.5 mph, and the one-in-a-thousand crash speed is approximately 86 mph-
No meantion of FATAL crashes
Lol. I see a million on my speedo....get with it bro.
Tsk noobs.
And yet the vast majority of Motorcyle deaths occur at speeds below 60km/h, I don't have to actual stats on me, but I believe in excess of 100km/h made up less than 5% of the fatal accidents on a bike.
The Hurt report has similar findings to the stats I had seen elsewhere ages ago.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_findings_in_the_Hurt_Report
1 in 1000 fatal accidents were at speeds greater than 86mph
Edit: Point #21 is interesting on that list, most crashes are males, but females are over represented... Be safe ladies.
