Rotella on Sale

I'm assuming t6 5w40 would be good enough for a 2007 gsxr 600? I would think diesel oil wouldn't b safe for bikes tho...?

It conforms to the same standard that bike oils conform to, you will be fine. Will make your bike shift like a red hot knife through butter :)

Just picked up the last two jugs of Rotella T6 at my local CT. Apparently my neighbors were also spying on this thread ;)

They usually put that stuff on sale if it's a substandard batch. Lot's of components go into brewing it up. Plenty room for screw up along the process. If you've ever worked in manufacturing you'll know what I mean. Picked this up on an oil thread ages ago. Now I avoid the big sales. On a related note, Wally Mart is one of the most brutal contract negotiators. They'll fight over a penny per unit. Oil companies don't reward that. Rather they'll go full Chinese on 'em. .02

I've gotten the T6 at the Kenworth Truck Centre near Dixie and 401 for very good prices (don't recall exact price) but I had to buy 5 bottles.

It's not the manufacturer putting it on sale. Along with a few other things in your post that make no sense.

I wish I could find that old oil thread. Either way, do you believe you're always getting all the ingredients in the proper dosages processed in the correct way at all times? What are the odds of that in this hyper competitive global economy. I'm not going to pretend I understand all the backroom shenanigans businesses engage in but I'm sure there can be a correlation between the manufacturers' price and store price.

Thats why you should always take a swig from the oil jug to verify it, before putting it in the bike.

Its cheaper and just as good as amsoil. Nothing wrong with using it. I'll be sending my t6 out for testing at the end of this season.

Yes they are made to the specifications set out by someone. The question is, how wide are the tolerances for variations? I have worked in first teir automotive and we had to throw out a lot of money because we couldn't take the chance they would fail.

"Fail" could mean giving less than optimum service during that particular oil change cycle not outright engine failure. Over the years certain brands of very expensive dedicated 4 stroke M/C oil have been proven to be nothing special. They didn't deliver the extreme performance advertised. The willingness to "slip one by" the consumer is well documented. Food and pharma are examples of even higher stakes. Tolerances and specifications only mean something when adhered to. The point of my original post, based on something I read on an oil thread, was don't assume you're getting the gold standard at fire sale prices. It's a race to the bottom when everybody shops on price. Of course there's a good chance everything's on the up and up too.

It's an excellent oil for your bike. I use the T6 in both my 07 GSXR600 and 09 GSXR1000.

T is out at the Markham Rd/Highglen location, but T6 has plenty of stock left.

I went this morning and picked a few jugs they have plenty in stock, and plus ct handed me two free tickets for May long weekend at mosport.;-)
