Roll up the rim

I've switched to MCDonalds for the winter - cheaper coffee (until now) and better tasting.

Bought a large from Tims a few days ago - won a COFFEE :D

U're supposed to give it to me

Any other coffee places still have free coffees if you bring in a losing roll up the rim cup? They had this in previous years but haven't heard anything lately. I don't drink coffee I was just curious.

That would be a LOT OF FREE COFFEES... i doubt that very much!

Look at it from another angle. Your a company that sells coffee and is competing with Timmies... What would be a quick easy cheap way to get people to try your product and spread the word about your company? Offer something for free.

Companies spend millions on advertising. Coffee costs what to make? Its prob their cheapest form of advertising and all they have to do is get the word out and they can do that for free online.

And how many people ONLY buy a coffee? Get any type of snack or lunch with it and you've turned a ****** Tim Hortons' promotion into your own.

Exactly!!!
McDonalds recently did it when they rebranded themselves over the recession. They gave out free coffee for like a month. Now how many people do you know go to McDonalds for coffee over Timmies.

yea, they aren't doing it this year... cause that WAS A LOT OF FREE COFFEESSS!!

You missed my post about how its could save them money to offer free coffee instead of other forms of advertising.

And honestly the fact that its being discussed here shows how successful it was. 1 year later.

Giving away free product for over a month is costly when your name isn't McDonald's. When you think about how many losers there are in Roll Up The Rim, it could put a small franchise owner out of business. A better strategy might be taking losers for the last week of the Tim Horton's promo. In the end you still have to get the word out quickly which still cost money. Social Media is great and free but still slower than a radio or TV when trying to get a large message out there fast.

And just like the Leafs, I've lost 5 in a row.

I really dislike the RUTRTW promotions. I work near a Tim's. The amount of cups thrown out the car windows increases substantially during that time.

I finally won!! Awesome!! We have different prizes in Quebec i think.....
