If you're thinking about this deal......
"Sale" ends November 24th.
Needless to say, virtually every store was sold out within the first hour or so on the day of the sale.
Good news : Staples (and Im sure many other vendors), are taking preorders and are guaranteeing shipment. The next batch are due to arrive on the 29th.
.
So what your saying is that it streams porn well? lol
On behalf of my wife - who is a Senior Project Manager of Manufacturing at RIM Waterloo - we thank you for your support. Every BB and Playbook sold gets me one step closer to living carefree at home in the manner to which I will become accustomed.
why isn't the playbook working off your home wifi like mine? if you have wifi off an internet connection you should be able to connect. call there tech support.ya know what....Screw RIM.
so i have a BB and i just bought a Playbook....setting them up i get a notice that my BB has an update...so i download the update and install it. So then i try to bridge the BB and Playbook and for that i need to go online for some god awful reason...No problemo i have WiFi. Click on the blackberry world app "Data plan is not an option" or something along those lines....so i google it and MOTHER****ING RIM has agreed to limit capabilities of the Blackberrys over the WiFi to force more people to get data, and to use up more data bandwidth...
I have Data, and its a corporate account and i dont really care what my usage is. The problem is that my area has really ****** reception and i have no 3G/Edge or even regular signal in my basement (where i like to spend my time).
So for me to Bridge these two devices right now, i have to go outside like a moron and try to get a solid 3G signal when i have perfectly good WiFi at home...
i hope they do sink...that and their haphazard BB menu and navigation...Nothing is intuitive, NOTHING!!
Bingo... I would have bought 3 myself (dad, sister, and myself) but they were sold out because people are trying to "scalp" these things. BestBuy offers free shipping over $20. They have some in stock (online) but are no longer taking online orders. FutureShop (BestBuy's sister company) wants $40 for shipping (I don't get it? Just another cash grab?) Looks like everyone is trying to profit from the sale of these things. You know what happens in cases like this?
Some people willing to milk the system for profit, will go around to those who don't plan to participate and buy the "extra" quotas of 5.
Some employees will stockpile 500 or more of the things at home, ready to sell for Christmas.
Is that really fair to anyone in the general public who wants to buy one, or the company itself?
If I can find one for $200, great! But if not, I'm just another ******-off potential customer that'll likely take my business elsewhere.

the PB is working fine...that is not my problem...just the fact that now certain apps MUST use Data instead of WiFi to access...simply because some providers asked RIM to do this...
This is how i use my Iphone, no data, just WiFi at home, if Apple did this i'd chuck the iphone in the garbage....Apple limits their devices a lot, but even they arent that stupid to piss off that many people.
