Riding in this weather

All the side roads are dry and the parking lot is empty and dry as well should I take advantage of the situation and go for a spin... it will be my first riding any tips?

Mmmm...no. Your way to anxious. Wait till mid March

Lol empty, dry, and salt-ridden. If you haven't ridden before I would NOT recommend it...only a month left till winter is officially over!

Go for it.
Expect no traction and lower reaction time due to the cold. Know you run a much higher risk of parking it without using the side stand and all is well.

Have fun and don't let the bike or yourself get hurt.

minimal salt on the sides... they only plowed it never salted it as no one uses it ....

All of us have been where u are....just wait. Until then be like the rest of us and go make vroom vroom noises on it in the garage.

What kind of bike is it? Do u care if u dump it ? The probability of a new rider dumping it with slick conditions is high, the probability of u going off the parking lot is too....

You asked, got good advice and don't like it. Now go ride it, it's yours. Mine is still in hibernation, probably till June judging by the snow in my yard. Lol

I don't know how you can wait loll

May be better to wait, in the cold things can go bad so much faster. Plus, its VERY hard to just ride for only a little bit.

If you do go, what temp are your tires rated to? Will you have full gear? Are ALL parts of the parking lot ice free?

Jesus Christ.. I remember making a thread EXACTLY like this before I ever rode my first bike... having it sitting there waiting for me all through the winter.

Obviously I still went out and rode - it was fun.. but now that I have some ex points under my belt - I wouldn't recommend it for all the same reasons people mentioned to me... Regardless... you still will obviously take it out.. so good luck.

Here you go.. lmao: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforu...-bike-for-the-first-time-this-Saturday-advice

Go for it. You've already made up your mind. Just take it easy on brakes and turns.

Around the 2nd week of March.. it was still ****... about 4 to 7 degrees.

Whereabouts are you located?
