Riding Down Under - Tropical Cairns Australia

Succumbed to some boxing day shopping.
Was looking for some decent knee pads for the eBike and these fit the bill.

Sound bar with some bass....was considering separate sub but this will do on several fronts.
Reasonable deal and good reviews...plus works with Alexa which for me is a bonus plus Spotify which we are drifting towards away from the now annoying Amazon Music.

Constant light rain with bursts of heavier but enough to keep me confined :( and the dog grouchy.
Nice to see the birdwings back in the back garden aka rain forest.

huge females and glorious plumage males wander in and out of the deck ...occasionally needing rescue.

My photos from previous years. They would be just emerging from their crysalis now. Very little wind today today so several have sailed by so far.

Not my photo.

Very impressed Noraly finished that rally. (y) Some tough going and she even stated she did not film the hardest part.
With that groin injury those falls must have taken their toll and you could see her limping :( . Enjoyable section. Looking forward to where she is off to after her return to Alaska. 🍿

So a very good riding day cept I was not out there .....
Watching Avatar on AVX and well worth the time...future of movies. Technological marvel.
Maybe tomorrow.
Hmm. Maybe I'll give it a shot. Normally i don't watch sequels and the Avatar story didn't impress me. (too predictable) the cgi was very good, but after you have seen it once it's not even with a second time. Maybe the sequel will be better.

Finally ....having a German plate at fav restaurant in Kuranda.

Warmish but enough clouds to knock it back.

Nother lovely but gray day - no sun and very little wind.
27 at noon. Put on my lightweight HWK pants and ordered a pair of Rev'it light pants.

More about this decision later.
Heading to Daintree Village and get a bite. Currently at my my fav picnic table south of Port Douglas.

Having croc spring rolls at Daintree Village. Very meaty and piping hot and crisp. Yum.
1672454448470.png Nice ride up. 27 and grey but no rain and zilch wind. Pacific living up to it's name. Hardly a ripple.

Good sleep to start the New Year ....along with champagne and Sydney fireworks in 4k.

Every bit of exposed skin getting munched by mozzies....even normally tough skinned partner was complaining.
Gorgeous day so far, getting partner tea and watching a very relaxing 4k /8k vid....lovely this time of the morning just before sunnup.

Not sure where she is off to next.

Not fond of her colour choice ..I like Honda Red and she certainly eliminated the Honda branding.
Other upgrades are nice - not sure the taller narrow screen will do what she wants...I had a similar issue on the CBF1000 and it needed the vario lip.

Youtube segued into this
Not quite the same ... but worth the watch ...

Now this was a good watch
Did not realize how spectacular the Stelvio Pass is ...it's 2 hours but worth it.

Completely useless today  ...caught up on sleep and shopped with partner to no good end. More Marvel movies tonight.

Thanks will check out waiting for Noraly new season. √
Excellent and on the familiar side of the road.
That was really enjoyable.
We've been up in the Darwin and Katharine area ( the gorge is fantatastic) and we have the Kimberleys on the bucket list.

We were there in the dry when this pic was taken - in the wet - the entire volume of Sydney Harbour goes through daily high up thos bluffs.
Loads of big salties all over the in the area tho not right here.
We were nearby in the wet and one salty this size was cruising the underwater parking lot. Bus had big tires.
